Scorer: Binoy George | Commentator: Abhimanyu Bose
11pm Alright then, that's all the action we have for you today. The big win sees San Francisco Unicorns shoot up to the top of the table, despite being the last team to play. On behalf of Himanshu and Binoy, this is Abhimanyu signing off.
10.50pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
Finn Allen is the player of the match. "I think took a bit too long to get used to the pace of the wicket. Me and Jake were looking to get going early. The way Shorty came out and struck the ball straight away took the pressure off me and I could just build a partnership with him."
Unicorns captain Corey Anderson: "It was nice to sit and watch Finn and Shorty take the game away from them. The boundaries aren't big. The ball just seems to travel here. There isn't a heap of moisture. I think the great thing about our lineup is the guys at the top, the way they play their game is very aggressive and you have to let them express themselves. That's going to come with some ups and downs. Brody [Couch] was outstanding today."
LAKR captain Sunil Narine: "Think we fell around 15-20 runs short. I think you have to think about actually taking wickets instead of just trying to bowl dot balls. The batters have to dig deep. We still got to about 160 so it's not bad. I back myself in whatever decisions I make. It didn't work today but hopefully things will be better next game on."
10.45pm A ruthless display of aggression from Finn Allen and Matthew Short has set up a comfortable, NRR-boosting win for San Francisco Unicorns in their first game of the season. Allen and Short both hit rapid half-centuries to take the momentum away from LAKR completely. Spencer Johnson took three wickets, but the damage was already done by the time he and Narine got rid of the dangerous duo. Russell's late cameo for Knight Riders proves to not be nearly enough. The Unicorns bowlers initially did a good job in restricting LAKR to 165, with none of their batters being allowed to convert their starts.
