Lockie Ferguson: "Body's fine. Rhythm, not so much. But anyway, happy with that outcome. The boys pulled it back there, so hopefully they will chase it down. I've had a bit of a problem with that [run-up] in the last year or so. I'm just excited about the occasion, probably running in a little bit quickly. So if kids are watching, don't do that [laughter]. The way Quinny [QDK] bats, he's world-class, and he got himself in tonight and made it difficult for us to bowl to him. So I was trying to change the pace for him as much as possible. I got a lucky wicket against him. That sort of changed the momentum for us a little bit. So, yeah, looking forward to watching the boys bat tonight. [Target above par or not] That's above my pay grade. I think it is probably par."
8:42 pm What a turnaround for the Washington Freedom! The MI New York started strong, with their openers playing cautiously at first against the new ball. Then, Quinton de Kock took charge, especially against Maxwell and Edwards during the power play. They had a fantastic start, putting up 72 runs opening stand before Monank Patel got out. Tajinder came in at number three and looked promising, but he couldn't handle Holland's tricky, slower ball. It seemed like MI New York were easily headed for a score of over 200. However, everything shifted for New York during the middle overs. Netravalkar picked up a key wicket by dismissing Pooran. Lockie Ferguson subsequently claimed two wickets in his final over, exhibiting his true ability with the ball. QDK, who was on the way to a century, mishits a flick shot and is caught at midwicket after reaching 77 runs off 44 deliveries. Lockie Ferguson was the opposition's best bowler, taking three wickets while conceding only 21 runs. We'll be back shortly for the running chase!
