Glenn Phillips: "It was a fantastic game for the spinners. Obviously started off really well. The boys in the Powerplay taking a couple of wickets, which always helps, and we just keep chipping away through the middle. The pitch is a little bit tricky, so hopefully we've kept them to something chaseable. [Bowling] is just a really big passion of mine. You obviously have a significantly more chance than when you have the batting option. So, to be able to be involved in both halves of the game is also part of the fun of it. So, for me, just to go out there and try and contribute in both innings is what I enjoy the most. Obviously one ball at a time is hopefully going to put us in some good stead, keeps the process going, and hopefully we can come out with a win."

5:29 pm MI New York took a big chance today! They swapped out seven players, won the toss, and decided to bat first. This was always going to be a gamble, especially since the pitch had been covered for so long. Unfortunately, their plan didn't work out. They lost their in-form batter, Monank Patel, very early, in just the second over. Nicholas Pooran came in swinging, hitting two quick boundaries, showing he meant business. But that aggressive approach backfired, and he was out in the very next over. The pressure kept building as Glenn Maxwell grabbed two quick wickets, and then Glenn Phillips joined in, taking another two. The pitch was a dream for the spinners, offering good turn and variable bounces. Even though Kunwarjeet played some good shots against the spin, he couldn't stick around, falling to Phillips after making 33 runs. While Richards and Sunny did manage some useful runs lower down the order, helping MI New York get past 100, it was a tough day for their batters overall. On the bowling side, Maxwell was outstanding with three wickets, and Phillips chipped in with two.
