Corne Dry: "It was great. I think as a bowling unit, we've all understood our roles and what we need to achieve. So it's good, just contributing to the team. [Played just one game in Dallas and Oakland] No, not at all. I think we understand our roles in the team. Each person out here has their role that they need to do. We want the team to do well. So whatever my role is, be it on the bench or on the field, I just want to do that really well. [Happy with that total?] Polly [Pollard] is such a world-class finisher; the way he batted in the end summed it up. Conditions were really good. So I think we were happy getting him out there. We would have taken it. We need to keep wickets in hand and one or two partnerships, and we can do it. [Pitch] A little bit slow, a little bit tacky, but once again, if you get in, give yourself a chance, you can score absolutely."
4:52 pm MI New York's innings got off to a rocky start! They lost their opener, QDK, for a duck in just the second over. Then, in the fourth over, Corne Dry came in and quickly dismissed the in-form Monank Patel. By the end of the Powerplay, MI New York had already lost their first three wickets. Pooran and Bracewell began to steady things with a partnership in the middle. The skipper looked in good touch, but unfortunately, he was caught behind right after the first strategic timeout, falling to Narine's bowling. However, Kieron Pollard then took charge, smashing a brilliant 50 runs off just 36 balls, including some massive sixes. His powerful knock helped MI New York reach a decent total on this pitch. On the bowling side, Shadley van Schalkwyk was the pick of the bowlers, bagging three crucial wickets. Holder and Dry also contributed well, each picking up two wickets.
