Akeal Hosein: "Decent score. We'd have liked to get them for around 120, but with that being said, I thought it was a good effort there. So we just have to go and get the runs. There's enough in there for bowlers, but I still think you have to execute and hit the right length, because a fraction too short or full and they can score. [Dismissing JFM] As I said, it's just about hitting the right areas. These guys are massive power hitters, so imagine Ferreira is very slim with these guys. Thankfully, I got off on the winning side today."

5:22 pm After a 40-minute rain delay, we finally got some cricket! The Unicorns began their innings cautiously, playing out Akeal Hosein's opening overs carefully. However, in the second over, Allen tried to get a bit fancy with a ramp shot but ended up chipping it straight to mid-wicket. The Super Kings had a bit of a lapse in the third over, failing to review an appeal for a caught-behind against Matt Short. Meanwhile, Akeal Hosein continued his fantastic form, delivering what was arguably the best ball of his career to dismiss JFM, claiming his 200th T20 wicket in the process! Matt Short and Hassan Khan then began to rebuild the innings, with Khan being the more aggressive of the two. Khan played a quickfire innings, scoring 40 runs off just 25 balls before he was dismissed. As the clouds cleared and the sun came out, the pitch seemed to firm up, making batting a bit easier. Short, once again, played a true captain's knock in a tricky situation, scoring a crucial 80 runs off 63 balls. On the bowling front, Stoinis picked up three wickets, while Noor, Akeal, and Burger each bagged one for their team.
