George Linde: "It's always awesome playing for MI. It was lovely to be able to get a game. Unfortunately, it didn't go the way we wanted. But obviously the score has been chased down before on this ground, so hopefully we can do. [Run chase] I'll just think you gotta give yourself a chance, you can see the way Faf played. He gave himself a good chance, and he capitalized on that."
Suren: "Agarkar's record of 5 ducks in a row and Ugarkar's 5 wides in a row can't be touched anytime soon. "
8:48 pm The Texas Super Kings began cautiously, losing opener Smit Patel in the second over, but Faf du Plessis quickly ignited a counterattack, smashing three consecutive sixes in the Powerplay and reaching his 82nd T20 fifty in the fifth over. After a period of tight bowling from MI New York, Faf reignited his power-hitting in the 13th over with two more massive sixes, going on to score his second century of the season and eighth overall in T20 cricket, carrying his bat throughout the innings. A true captain's knock from the skipper! Donovan Ferreira continued his brilliant form, playing a cameo of 53 runs off just 20 deliveries, scoring the joint-fastest fifty in MLC history. While all the MI New York bowlers were expensive, conceding over 10 runs per over, with only Linde and Ugarkar managing two wickets each. We will be back for the run chase after a short break.
