7:55 pm David Warner got the innings off to a flying start, striking some beautiful shots. Mayers soon joined the party, and the opening pair put on 60 runs before Warner was dismissed by a wide, full delivery. However, both openers were out in quick succession. The Washington Freedom bowlers then grasped control, limiting the flow of runs in the middle overs. They took wickets on a regular basis, making good use of their slower deliveries. As dot balls gathered and pressure increased, wickets fell in clusters. The middle order struggled to capitalise on the opener' good start. Holland was the most effective bowler, using his superb variations to take a career-best 4 wickets for just 19 runs. Edwards claimed two wickets, while Owen and Paradkar each took one. Following a quick break, we will return for the run chase.

Raja: "What's Raza doing here?" He seemed exhausted today, swinging his bat wildly at everything.
