Maxwell then did Maxwell things during the middle overs and while both of them were at the crease, it felt a total in excess of 220 was within reach. Their wickets in quick succession did bring that threshold down, although Mukhtar ensured Washington posted the highest total at this year's MLC.

For the Unicorns, Cummins was the pick of the lot, using his variations and the ground dimensions to his advantage. The rest, though, came in for punishment, with Drysdale and Hassan, both of whom have been impressive this campaign, going the distance.
