6.31pm Apologies for the delayed scores and commentary during the chase because of a technical glitch. Bangladesh go 1-0 up in Chattogram. They win by 22 runs via DLS method. The IPL-bound Litton and Talukdar set the tone for victory with a blistering 91-run opening stand off 43 balls. Shamim and Shakib then made cameos to propel them to 207 for 5 - Bangladesh's third-highest total in T20Is. After a rain delay, Ireland's target was revised to 104 in eight overs. Taskin Ahmed rocked the visitors by taking three wickets in his first over. In all, he took four wickets in 12 balls to seal Bangladesh's victory.
Paul Stirling: I actually think we got the better of the conditions today and it got easier to bat. Disappointing to lose, with the conditions in our favour. I thought we came back well with the ball in the last ten overs. Always a pleasure to captain this team.
Talukdar is the Player of the Match. Shakib receives the award on the behalf of Talukdar who injured himself in the field.
Shakib: In T20s, we need all-round performances. We were not sure how the wicket will play, but they were positive from the start. The guys didn't panic and weren't overawed by the situation. They are enjoying their cricket and the way the bowlers have been bowling is fantastic.
