Shubman Gill: "Always feels good to convert a start into a big one. We were not looking at any target and were just trying to see how the pitch plays. The odd ball was keeping low and there was not much spin. When you are batting with Rohit or Virat, you don't have to do much. We were talking about targeting the bowlers and looked to score after the first three overs. [On Kohli] It is amazing to see what he does. I watched him growing up and it is incredible to see what he does. Once you get a start how to convert it into a hundred and how to convert those hundreds into 150-160 is a lesson we learn."

5:27pm 116 runs in the last ten overs and India would imagine Sri Lanka have been outbatted. It was another batting masterclass from Kohli but not without some class at the top. Rohit and Gill gave India the just start - after a slowish beginning. Rohit missed out on a big score but Gill ensured he didn't. It took a bit of low bounce to get the better of him.

But then, the Indian innings was yet again all Kohli. He was off the blocks pretty quickly, much like he did in the first ODI, before anchoring the innings for the best part of it. In the last ten overs, it was him leading the charge, scoring 84 off the 116 that India scored.
