4.30pm Well Mitch Marsh had us all fooled. He scored 81 off 65 with 70 in boundaries, but it turns out the pitch was not an easy one. It helped him that there was pace in the pitch. Once he got out, we saw the seam in the pitch, and India made a stunning comeback. Mohammed Shami was excellent. He says it was moving a little bit, he got a slip in, and he says he wanted to bowl the Test lengths. Shami feels they have done well to restrict Australia, and it should not be a very difficult chase.

The comeback for India started with that wide teaser to Marsh from Ravindra Jadeja, and after that wickets fell regularly. Australia might have played for 350 here, but it looks like 250 would have been a very good score. It looks like supper break is being taken now so we Hemant Brar will be back with you at 5.10pm.

Mohammed Siraj to Zampa, OUT, and the change in angle does the trick. Siraj has been beating the bat often without getting the edge so he goes wide on the crease, making him play closer to the angle, and that gets the edge through to the keeper

Mohammed Siraj to Zampa, no run, beaten on the outside edge. Again played inside the line as this pitches and straightens

This should help India in terms of over rate. If Australia had batted 50 overs today, India would have gone well past the 5pm scheduled end of innings. Here is No. 11 Adam Zampa. not to suggest they can't bat all 50 still. Stranger things have happened. Two slips now

Mohammed Siraj to Abbott, OUT, superb catch by Gill. He might have dropped one earlier, but has come back superbly. This is just good-old seam movement. Upright seam, Abbott pushes at a wide one, gets the edge, going low to the right of slip. Gill dives full length to take the low catch
