Manthan Jain: "First 4 overs it was fire vs fire contest with 45 for 3 then next 4 overs it was all WI then last 3 it was all SA ....."

5:01pm Wow, that was an action-packed innings. The West Indies got rid of de Kock and Rossouw early. They then kept chipping away through the middle phase, with none of the batters getting going. Miller, though, did what he does best. He assessed the conditions, picked out his areas to attack and did so superbly. His 22-ball 48, coupled with cameos from Hendricks and Magala have catapulted South Africa to 131, which could be a very good score on this surface that did offer a bit of assistance with the new ball.

The West Indies, meanwhile, would be ruing the number of runs they conceded towards the end. Prior to that, Joseph and Cottrell bowled well. The latter, in particular, gave away only seven runs and picked up two wickets in his first two overs. But he, like his teammates, could not curb the run-flow at the death. 60 runs came off the last three overs alone, meaning that they now have a mountain to climb. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Smith to Nortje, no run, short and wide outside off stump. Nortje has a massive swing at it but only connects with fresh air. The No ball does not prove costly for Smith!

Nortje walks out to face the Free hit. The brief will be clear: swing for the hills

Smith to Fortuin, 1 no ball, OUT, Fortuin is run out! But it is a No ball! Oh dear, it is all happening here! Length delivery just outside off stump. Fortuin swings like a rusty gate and misses. He is then run-out at the batter's end after some hesitation and that seems to be that for the innings. Well...until the umpire gets a nudge from the third umpire and calls it a No ball!

Smith to Miller, OUT, but he bowls length, and gets rid of Miller, oh my! Length delivery outside off stump, and the angle means that Miller has to fetch it. He gives it everything he has but can't get enough wood to clear Shepherd on the deep mid wicket fence! Take nothing away from this knock, though! It has taken South Africa to a very defendable total!

Deep point on the fence now. Wide yorker? Long off is on the fence too, as is long on
