4.25pm: Shots fired, punches thrown, damage sustained on all sides. England had one key contributor, the centurion Dawid Malan, while NZ had to deal with three of their starting XI going off the field - two of them not to return. Rachin Ravindra picked up four-for and the rest of the attack battled manfully to contain England, who nevertheless gallumphed past 300 nine down. There's only been one successful chase of 300-plus at Lord's - think Dada going gaga on the balcony - but then again, these teams have history on this ground. We'll be back for more shortly

Mitchell to Willey, OUT, slower delivery, Willey picks out long-on! Big heave but it comes off the toe of the bat and Boult has time to steady himself for the catch. Mitchell gets another, but Willey has done his bit

Mitchell to Carse, 1 run, moves outside off, slugged down the ground... Phillips gets there but puts it down! Flying effort running in from long-on, couldn't quite cling on as the ball dipped on him

2
Mitchell to Carse, 2 runs, slower delivery wide of the stumps, Carse flubs it up and over extra cover, it plugs and spins and they come back for two

NZ will have to bowl the full set... Mitchell to deliver it
