- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR36.5 reverse swing, through the gate! Here come Pakistan! Two wickets and a scare in as many overs, and this is a classic Pakistan fast bowler's dismissal, perfect line and length, shape straight out of the hand, curling through the gate, kissing a deflection on the way, and into the middle of middle! The end of a wonderful knock, but suddenly England have two men on 0! 235/235.4 Oh my, this looks plumb! A big wind-up on the reverse sweep, struck in front of the sticks, but Joel Wilson is unmoved! Going over, going under? Pakistan review. There's no bat involved ... pitching very much in line, and smashing off stump! A first Test wicket ends a first Test hundred. And breaks a Baztactular opening stand! 233/170.5 rapped on the knee roll, Pope shuffling across... not given but Pakistan review. Might be a touch high and leg side, but worth a look. In fact, it's hitting the top of leg! So Pope will have to go, and Mohammad Ali has a maiden Test wicket. Some respite for Pakistan late on a day of hard yakka in Pindi 462/445.6 Root sweeps and misses, given! Looked pretty adjacent, but he asks for the review. Tossed up and straightening on off stump, the ball scooted under the bat and hit him on the back leg... and that is about as plumb as you can get! Poking middle and off between the eyes, Mahmood has a second, and what a big wicket it is. From a clear blue sky, England's blue-eyed boy is gone. First batter not to make a century today 286/383.4 gone this time, picking out deep square leg! Brook walks off to applause from around the ground, in particular his team-mates. A cool 153 from 116 in only his second Test innings... didn't get hold of his pull this time, though, and it was well held in front of the rope. Third wicket of the morning for Naseem 576/775.6 bowled 'im! Smart response from Naseem, taking pace off and hitting the top of middle stump. Stokes stepped away and then missed the slower ball. England's captain walks off for a Baz-approved 41 off 18 - just the second batter to be dismissed short of a century in this innings 515/581.1 Livingstone whips off his pads... and straight to deep square leg! A tame way to go, and Naseem picks up a second wicket of the morning. He came sashaying down and flicked the ball aerially, but connected too well, really. Straight to the man on the rope for a head-high catch 539/695.2 hauled to midwicket! Jacks' sparky debut is done, a bit of a short-arm jab across the short ball, didn't get hold of it as Naseem reverses his hands and pouches a simple chance 641/898.2 reverse sweep, and up goes the finger! There was a bit of a pause for thought from umpire Raza, certainly leg-sided, and Robinson reviews. Clearly missed the bat, and it's clipping leg stump on DRS. The Countdown theme from the Barmy Army trumpeter reaches its conclusion and off he plods 649/9100.6 top-edged sweep, and Pakistan's ordeal is over. Zahid grabs his fourth to give his figures another massage, a big wind-up from Anderson, but miscued the googly, for Imam to slide round and swallow an easy chance at square leg 657/10Extras15 (b 2, lb 10, nb 2, w 1)TOTAL657 all out (101 Overs, RR: 6.5)Fall of wickets: 1-233 (Ben Duckett, 35.4 ov), 2-235 (Zak Crawley, 36.5 ov), 3-286 (Joe Root, 45.6 ov), 4-462 (Ollie Pope, 70.5 ov), 5-515 (Ben Stokes, 75.6 ov), 6-539 (Liam Livingstone, 81.1 ov), 7-576 (Harry Brook, 83.4 ov), 8-641 (Will Jacks, 95.2 ov), 9-649 (Ollie Robinson, 98.2 ov), 10-657 (James Anderson, 100.6 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR65.4 It's a wicket! A first Test wicket for Jacks! Shafique lined up the cut, and scuffed an edge through to Pope! Decent take too, as it was a big deflection, up by the gloves, there was width but a fraction of turn back into the shot, and England have the breakthrough! 225/170.1 Imam holes out! Takes the bait once again, but this time Leach finally hooks one. England have gone bang-bang (or at least bang... bang), and will take great heart from having dismissed both Pakistan openers. Imam has used this approach well throughout but this time didn't quite get to the pitch and sent it down the throat of long-on 245/280.5 zipping on, struck on the knee roll... given after some thought by Ahsan Raza! But Azhar is going to review. Looks close to leg stump, and it only needs to be clipping. But it's clattering into the top of leg, and Leach has done the trick with the new ball! Leach rises to the occasion for his captain once again, and England have a third wicket for the morning 290/3126.1 chopped in the air to point! Jacks has his man! Another shift in this contest, Babar had been utterly immoveable, but the temptation of Jacks' loopy offerings were just too much. He didn't get on top of his stroke at all, and Century No.7 is done and dusted! 473/5113.4 a flash outside off and there's the breakthrough! Gold-dust for England, and it's loose from Shakeel, lured by the angle across his bows, and confounded by a hint of seam movement maybe, but mostly by the tea break. An opening... 413/4127.5 flicked straight to short midwicket! And now we've got developments! Anderson's change to round the wicket does the trick, unlocking Rizwan's attempts to work the angles. Stokes grabs the chance by his bootlaces, and that's the maiden Test wicket for Anderson in Pakistan! 475/6147.4 edged to slip, Jacks pops up with another! Salman won't be going on to become the eighth centurion in this Test... Almost out of nowhere, a misjudgment. There was some spin for Jacks as Salman attempted to close the face, the ball kissed the edge and was well held low down by Crawley 554/8133.5 slogged, and out! England snaffle another before the close. Naseem had hit a couple out of the middle but gets this wrong, plinking a high catch to deep midwicket, well held by Leach running in. Hook, line and sinker, Pakistan's teenage No. 8 trudges off. Third wicket of the day for Jacks, England chipping away 497/7153.5 big appeal for the stumping! Mahmood was lining up the reverse sweep, Pope gathered slightly clumsily but got his hands to the stumps quickly enough. The toe made no effort to move back into the crease... but was it out in the first place? I'd say there's a stud at best behind the line... this could go either way to be honest. Stump-cam shows it best! A flick of line visible beneath the toe, he's out! And Jacks has five on debut! 576/9155.3 a big heave, a big nick, Jacks has six! Rauf goes for the off-balance wipe to leg, but Jacks just tossed it out a touch wider, and found the outside edge. Root stays alert, thrusting his hands up to cling onto the chance, and the lead is 78... which is something 579/10Extras18 (b 15, nb 3)TOTAL579 all out (155.3 Overs, RR: 3.72)Fall of wickets: 1-225 (Abdullah Shafique, 65.4 ov), 2-245 (Imam-ul-Haq, 70.1 ov), 3-290 (Azhar Ali, 80.5 ov), 4-413 (Saud Shakeel, 113.4 ov), 5-473 (Babar Azam, 126.1 ov), 6-475 (Mohammad Rizwan, 127.5 ov), 7-497 (Naseem Shah, 133.5 ov), 8-554 (Salman Agha, 147.4 ov), 9-576 (Zahid Mahmood, 153.5 ov), 10-579 (Haris Rauf, 155.3 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR13.5 short ball, Crawley swipes at a pull, Pakistan go up for caught behind... not given, but Babar asks for the review. Crawley seems to be indicating it might have flicked his shirt. But UltraEdge confirms a tickle of glove on the way through! Ahsan Raza reverses his decision and Pakistan bring themselves a moment's respite 96/30.2 gone first ball! Duckett opens the face in a bid to guide through third man, and picks out second slip! That was oddly inevitable, but it's how England roll. Good aggressive length from Naseem, cramping him for room with a bit of extra new-ball bounce, and a good chest-high take 1/15.1 short, and holed out to deep backward square! Superb direction on the bouncer, Pope tried to get inside the stroke, but it was straight at his lid by the time his hands came through, and he couldn't control the shot. A smart take inside the rope, and England lose their second! 36/228.1 The sweep is Root's downfall this time! Way down the leg side once more, he makes
decent contacta bit of a top edge actually, and Imam behind square is perfectly placed to intercept at short backward square. The end of a sprightly knock... 96 runs in the match for Root... almost the fifth hundred of the top order! 192/435.5 it's not to be! Gilbert Jessop lives to fight another day, a length ball from Naseem, quick and straight, he lined up the launch over deep midwicket, and has his stumps splattered! 264/728.4 oh my, Stokes has played a shocker! He sometimes does this at the moment, almost too eager to lead the charge, and he's scuffed the simplest of simple catches to short cover. Was lining up about ten shots at once, and ended up reaching for a length delivery with the toe of his bat! A duck for the captain, and another little twist to the narrative 192/533.4 one swipe too many! Jacks' fun ends just as it was getting started, just got underneath this one too much, and Imam at long-off was well set to swallow it. It's extraordinary action out there... and the lead, crucially, is 326 and climbing 248/6Extras8 (lb 3, nb 5)TOTAL264/7d (35.5 Overs, RR: 7.36)Fall of wickets: 1-1 (Ben Duckett, 0.2 ov), 2-36 (Ollie Pope, 5.1 ov), 3-96 (Zak Crawley, 13.5 ov), 4-192 (Joe Root, 28.1 ov), 5-192 (Ben Stokes, 28.4 ov), 6-248 (Will Jacks, 33.4 ov), 7-264 (Harry Brook, 35.5 ov)Bowling O M R W Econ WD NB Naseem Shah 9.5 0 66 2 6.71 0 1 Mohammad Ali 10 0 64 2 6.40 0 3 Zahid Mahmood 11 1 84 2 7.63 0 0 Agha Salman 5 0 47 1 9.40 0 1
- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR4.1 gottim, the short-ball attack works! England have their first wicket. Robinson breaks through, as Shafique picks out deep square leg on the pull. Only his second single-figure score in 15 Test innings... Dug in from round the wicket and he was taking on the shot against the angle, came off the top edge and presented a simple catch to Brook in the deep 20/125.3 down the leg side and gone! It's a strangle but Jimmy doesn't care! Shaping to leg, potentially a touch of extra bounce as Imam closed the face on an attempted nudge off the hip, but it's kissed straight into Pope's gloves, and that's a huge moment! The immoveable Imam is gone, and England have their reward for a very diligent first 20 minutes 89/382.1 flicked off the hip, straight at leg slip! Another huge moment, straight off the face of the bat, whipping with the inswing, but that man has been in situ for precisely that moment! Root gobbles the offering, England spring the trap, and now they believe this match is theirs! 260/75.3 ZOMG, Babar has tickled a bouncer to the keeper! Only just carried to Pope... but the finger goes up and Babar isn't hanging around. Stokes gets his opposite number and that's a HUGE moment in this Test. Stokes didn't realise there was an edge, as Babar fended on the back foot, but Pope was appealing straight away. Silence around the ground. You could hear a pin drop in Pindi 25/261.2 in the air, and swallowed by Jennings at short cover! Full and wide from Robinson, Shakeel came forward but Robinson's extra height makes it harder to get over the ball on the front foot. A loose reach of a drive loops off the bat, and Jennings springs into action to his right, snaffling the chance in both hands, horizontal to the ground! 198/555.1 Anderson finds the edge! Ecstacy for England, and now the match turns again! Outstanding discipline from the old stager, nagging in the channel outside off, finding just enough assistance with the reverse swing, there's a touch of nibble from back of a length, drawing Rizwan outside his eyeline, and a flinched nick flies to Pope! 176/480.2 big inswinger and a huge appeal! Stokes is going to review once more! The ball almost rolled onto the stumps after striking Salman on the pad... there was inside edge of bat, but was it pad first? If so, it's close! England sound excited to judge by the first replay! It's out! A wicked cramping curler from Robinson, Salman was pinned so far back on the crease that even with the late movement, it wasn't going to swing past! 259/696.3 pinned him! Smack on the front pad, but Naseem reviews... England were already scattering in celebration but will have to regroup. Looks pretty straight on the replay. It was caught at silly point, too, so an inside edge won't save Naseem. No bat involved, what does ball-tracking say....? Time stands still in Pindi. Hitting leg stump, that's it. England have won this reality-warping Test, by 74 runs with the shadows lengthening! 268/1087.2 a wonder-grab from Pope down the leg side! Who needs Ben Foakes when you've got the Pontiff! A lifter into the ribs, a flick off the glove as Mahmood closes the face, and Pope leaps to his left, clings on in one glove, and now the white smoke is definitely billowing over the pavilion! 264/887.4 nailed on the pads! Big inswinger, full length, tailing in as the batter is pinned deep in the crease. Up goes the finger, but he's going upstairs. It's Umpire's Call, and England are one away from an extraordinary Test win! 264/9Extras11 (lb 3, nb 8)TOTAL268 all out (96.3 Overs, RR: 2.77)Fall of wickets: 1-20 (Abdullah Shafique, 4.1 ov), 1-20* (Azhar Ali, retired not out ), 2-25 (Babar Azam, 5.3 ov), 3-89 (Imam-ul-Haq, 25.3 ov), 4-176 (Mohammad Rizwan, 55.1 ov), 5-198 (Saud Shakeel, 61.2 ov), 6-259 (Salman Agha, 80.2 ov), 7-260 (Azhar Ali, 82.1 ov), 8-264 (Zahid Mahmood, 87.2 ov), 9-264 (Haris Rauf, 87.4 ov), 10-268 (Naseem Shah, 96.3 ov)
