8:17pm A much-better batting display by Hong Kong. Two of their top four were among the runs and that helped build a solid foundation. Zeeshan was more sedate than usual at the start, but did find the fence a few times before perishing. Nizakat was also scratchier than he would have wanted but his 42, coupled with Murtaza's 28-run cameo, have allowed Hong Kong to get past 140, which may not seem like a lot, but does give them something to play with.

Bangladesh will be content with their bowling display. Tanzim was probably the pitch of the bunch, causing the batters problems with his pace, nip and bounce. Taskin and Rishad were also among the wickets, but were a touch expensive. Bangladesh will be confident of hunting this down and will start as favourites when this second innings starts. Join us in a bit for it!

1
Taskin Ahmed to Kalhan Challu, 1 run, hard length just outside off. Challu backs away and jabs it on the bounce to mid off. Saunters across to the other end as the fielder refrains from throwing it, and Hong Kong finish a tick under 145!

Odinlass : "145?" -- Seems to be on the cards!

19.5
2
Taskin Ahmed to Kalhan Challu, 2 runs, off-pace on a back of a length outside off. Challu winds up and tugs it towards deep mid wicket. The call is for two and he hurtles back to complete it
19.4
1
Taskin Ahmed to Ehsan Khan, 1 run, excellent yorker on middle and leg. Ehsan cannot get under it and clinks it down the ground towards long on
19.3
1
Taskin Ahmed to Kalhan Challu, 1 run, zipped into the blockhole just outside off. Challu, rather ambitiously, shapes up for the scoop and scuffs it off the back of the bat towards short third

2nb
Taskin Ahmed to Ehsan Khan, (no ball) 1 run, off-pace on a back of a length outside off. Ehsan opens his bat face and runs it towards backward point. Oh dear - looks like Taskin has overstepped for the second time tonight...

Ehsan on strike. Challu at the other end. Neither batter has faced a ball yet

Taskin Ahmed to Aizaz Khan, OUT, goes a mile up, and pouched by Jaker! Slower ball on a length on middle and leg, and Aizaz is deceived completely by the lack of pace. Swings too early and shovels it way up. The ball comes down with snow on it and when it does, Jaker makes no mistake. Hong Kong losing their way towards the end!

2
Taskin Ahmed to Aizaz Khan, 2 runs, shortish just outside off. Aizaz opens up his stance and hoicks it towards deep mid wicket, who dives snappily to his left and saves a couple of runs

Rishad will not get a chance at a hat-trick because his spell is done. Taskin to close things out for Bangladesh. Hong Kong will be chuffed if they could get to 150

Rishad Hossain to Shah, OUT, rapped in front, and the finger goes up! Reviewed by Kinchit because, well, why not! Back of a length on middle and this seems to just hold in the surface a touch. Kinchit has a wild slog at it and the bat ends up in a different post code to the ball. He gets pinged on the back thigh, while down on the sweep, and this seems to be pretty adjacent. Ball Tracking confirms that suspicion, and has the ball crashing into the middle of middle stump. That might have to be filed under the optimistic reviews section!

KD Shah lbw b Rishad Hossain 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

Kinchit is the new batter in

umair: "A target of 160 would make things interesting" -- That seems a fair distance away at the moment...

Rishad Hossain to Nizakat Khan, OUT, holes out to long on, and Rishad has the last laugh! Rishad holds this back on middle and leg, perhaps after sensing the charge. Nizakat, despite advancing, is therefore unable to get to the pitch of the ball. He has to reach out in front, meaning he does not generate the requisite power. Tanzim scurries to his left, tracks it all the way and snaffles up the chance. A scratchy knock, but it did yield 42 runs for Hong Kong!

1
Rishad Hossain to Aizaz Khan, 1 run, in the air but it lands into safety! Floated up outside off. Aizaz hares down the track and swishes at it. Gets a thick outside edge and the ball lands well in front of sweeper cover
18.3
1
Rishad Hossain to Nizakat Khan, 1 run, length on middle and leg. Nizakat gets down on one knee and heaves it on the bounce to long on
18.2

Rishad Hossain to Nizakat Khan, SIX, Nizakat is turning it on now! Lobbed up a little on a length just outside off. Nizakat waltzes down the track and launches it over long off!

1
Rishad Hossain to Aizaz Khan, 1 run, shortish on the stumps. Aizaz goes back and works it towards deep mid wicket

Mustafizur and Tanzim bowling out means that Rishad has to bowl the penultimate over. This could be a window of opportunity for Hong Kong

Mustafizur Rahman to Nizakat Khan, FOUR, sliced away, and Nizakat bags his second boundary! Pushed across the batter on a length wide outside off. Nizakat generates momentum by charging and then flays it over backward point!

Irfy: "How costly that run out could be, in the context of the game." -- That could make a difference of 10-15 runs to Hong Kong's total

Mustafizur Rahman to Aizaz Khan, 1 leg bye, shortish on the hips. Aizaz misses his flick and the ball dribbles off the thigh pad into the square leg region

17.3
1
Mustafizur Rahman to Aizaz Khan, 1 run, back of a length on leg stump. Aizaz lets the ball come to him before tucking it off his pads towards deep square leg

Aizaz on strike now

1
Mustafizur Rahman to Nizakat Khan, 1 run, slower ball on a length on leg stump. Nizakat comes down the track and throws his hands at it, shanking it towards long on

Tan: "What's the Snicko on 16.6?" -- The replays have not come up yet.

W
Mustafizur Rahman to Nizakat Khan, OUT, run out by a country mile! Off-pace on a back of a length outside off. Nizakat jabs it towards extra cover and then sees his captain hurtle towards him. Nizakat did not even contemplate a single and the only thing he showed signs of running was when his captain was almost next to him. The throw goes to the bowler's end and Mustafizur does the rest, with Murtaza stranded half-way down the track!

Yasim Murtaza run out 28 (28m 19b 2x4 2x6) SR: 147.36

Mustafizur to bowl out

Taskin Ahmed to Yasim Murtaza, no run, Taskin appeals, but gets no support from elsewhere! Short again, angling across the batter wide outside off. Murtaza has an ungainly swipe at it and seems to miss. Taskin was adamant Murtaza had nicked it, but the others were not as inclined
16.5
4
Taskin Ahmed to Yasim Murtaza, FOUR, four more - the runs are flowing now! Half-tracker outside off and this sits up just the way Murtaza wants. He winds up and belts it between long on and deep mid wicket!

Taskin Ahmed to Yasim Murtaza, no run, low full toss just outside off. Murtaza drills it straight to mid off and he will feel he missed out there
16.3
1
Taskin Ahmed to Nizakat Khan, 1 run, slower ball dug into the track on middle and leg. Nizakat steps out to the leg side and hoicks it to long on
16.2
4
Taskin Ahmed to Nizakat Khan, FOUR, Nizakat has his first boundary, at the 32nd attempt! More or less the perfect yorker on off stump but such is this game that Nizakat has found his first boundary tonight off this ball. Slashes at it having backed away and chalks it off the toe-end past deep third!
16.1
1
Taskin Ahmed to Yasim Murtaza, 1 run, hard length on the stumps. Murtaza takes a step down the track and swats it towards the bowler, who partially stops it and takes the sting out of the stroke

Taskin back for his third. Over the wicket
