8.48pm A treat for home fans. South Africa know that the pitch is good and the only way to approach this chase is by hitting from ball one. Can India win this game and win their first home series against SA? We'll find out on the other side when Ekanth gets back on the comms seat.
8.44pm An imperious batting performance from India, helped in part by some ordinary bowling from South Africa. A total of 100 runs in fours, 78 runs in sixes, and South Africa have everest to climb. But remember, this is the same country that chased down 434 one time, so you never know in cricket. India the happier side, for sure, at the break.
Let's break the innings down shall we: KL Rahul got off the blocks in a flash to make 57. Rohit Sharma wasn't fluent, but with a semi-injured finger you'd think his 43 in 37 balls wasn't too shabby. Kohli unbeaten on a 28-ball 49, DK smacking a seven-ball 17, but this total would not have been possible if it wasn't for Suryakumar Yadav's 22-ball 61.
As for the bowling, Keshav Maharaj appeared to be bowling on a different surface. Got the first two wickets and went for only 23. Every other seamer had economies of more than 12, with both Rabada and Parnell getting half-centuries with the ball.
Abhijeet: "DK needed batting time before the world cup.So glad Kohli did not get the strike for a 50.Hopefully reserves these milestones at the world cup "
