Scorer: @Thilak_Rama | Commentator: Ashish Pant
That's all we've got from ILT20, this evening. Thanks for tuning in. The qualifier 1 will be on Wednesday between these two teams and we will be live nice and early for that. Until then, on behalf of Thilak, it is a goodbye from me Ashish Pant. Ciao!
Qais Ahmed is the player of the match: When you are playing with such legendary cricketers like Sam Billings they always support me, give me confidence. Wicket was very good for spin so I tried my best to turn the ball. I went well. I am happy for these four wickets. The wicket of Sam Curran was great. He is a big player.
Sam Billings, Capitals captain: Was clinical. That was what we asked for. A really good team that was playing tonight. Delighted by that win. [On Qais] Wrist spin is a bit of a cheat code. It is so important all over the world. It can be a bit of a graveyard in Sharjah, but he was brilliant. The key thing is to be attacking and it was great he got the rewards. Two good teams going head to head and we have been great tonight. We will take a lot of confidence. Wednesday is a new day, new game and we will have to adapt again.
Lockie Ferguson, Vipers captain: These things happen. I still back the boys. Qais was exceptional. We will go back to the drawing board and come back. We have been outstanding and a little blip in the end will not change anything. Max had a back twinge, but he should be okay for the playoffs
The green belt is being handed to Shai Hope from his captain Sam Billings.
Presentation time
9.43pm What a turnaround this has been for Dubai Capitals. They had just one win after four games, which included three losses on the bounce. But a stunning turnaround saw them win four of their next five games and now they have toppled table-toppers Desert Vipers to pip MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriorz to second place. They will now face Vipers in Qualifier 1 on Wednesday in Dubai. The win was set up by Qais Ahmed who picked 4 for 25. That restricted Vipers to 137. In reply, Shai Hope (52*) and Gulbadin Naib (55*) put on an unbroken 96 run-stand off 75 balls as Capitals coasted home with 17 balls to spare. Hang around for the presentation.
