Giants have made their way up the points table, but that stay could be temporary. Out of the three teams below Giants, Sharjah and ADKR have a game in hand, while Dubai have two. Giants can't move any further than the eight points they have now, so an interesting and potentially thrilling business end of the round-robin stage awaits. The action shifts to a double-header Sunday tomorrow, so join us as we near the ILT20 playoffs. Until then, good night and take care!
Dan Worrall is the Player of the Match: "Opening the bowling with Mark, we just had to get us off to a good start. Happy we got it done tonight. There's a bit of everything [in the bowling attack]. I might have been in the shower for most of the second innings!"
James Vince, GG captain: "It looks a good wicket. Important upfront was to try and put the bowlers under pressure. There was a really partnership to consolidate and set the platform. If we don't get through, it will be disappointing. If we can sneak in, we'll give it our best shot."
Sunil Narine, ADKR captain: "It looked tough. I think they bowled brilliantly, and used the conditions to their advantage. Tried to build pressure in the middle. Holder has done a fantastic job with bat and ball. He assessed the conditions as best as possible. The guys are still looking at the Mumbai-Sharjah game!"
Time for the presentations
9.28pm It didn't turn out to be that comprehensive a win for Giants. At the halfway stage, they needed another 73 runs from the remaining 60 balls. That is when Erasmus and Curran attacked Russell to smash 17 runs in an over, and the momentum shifted in a hurry. Erasmus took his time to score 47, but his patience turned out to be handy; Curran was quicker with his 38*, and was key to the chase getting done with more than two overs to spare. As a result, Giants bag two massive points, and move three spots up to No. 3 in the points table. Hang around for the presentations.
Hinds back. Giants need only another five.
