Hope you enjoyed our coverage of the Eliminator and we hope you'll join us tomorrow for the mouthwatering Qualifier 1 clash between Gulf Giants and MI Emirates! Until then, this is Rvel Zahid saying goodbye and goodnight!
That marks the end of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders' campaign, while Dubai Capitals have booked a spot in Qualifier 2 What a powerful performance from Dubai Capitals on the big night! They have momentum on their side and will hope to give a tough time to the loser of the Qualifier 1! Capitals didn't put a foot wrong against lackluster Knight Riders and several players put up their hand and stepped up in the crucial knockout game. Tom Banton, Tom Abell, Sam Billings, and then Sikandar Raza all contributed with the bat superbly and got an above-par total on this tricky pitch. In reply, Jason Roy and Michael Pepper were back in the hut in single figures as Scott Kuggeleijn and Olly Stone wreaked havoc with the new ball, stringing a barrage of dots and exerted enormous pressure. Stone, in particular, was generating lightning-fast pace and made life tough for the batters with his accuracy and fierce bounce. Thereon, Zahir Khan and Sikandar Raza didn't let them get off the hook with their clever spinning methods as Knight Riders surrendered meekly in front of a charged-up bowling attack, which was far superior to theirs
Sunil Narine, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Captain: Yeah, think they got 15-20 too many. This tournament powerplay is the key. We had a decent tournament; there are some positives we could take. All in all, it was good, just didn't come off today.
Sam Billings, Dubai Capitals Captain: We've played couple of games here, getting yourself in is always tricky, that has been the trend of the tournament. You can get a decent score once you go past 10-20. (Openers) allowed middle order to keep going, very happy (with the score), communication was 160-plus would be a really good score. We felt we were over-par with the score. (On fast bowling) They compliment each other brilliantly, Scott swings the new ball, Stone hits the deck harder, more off a seam bowler. They have always set the tone. Yeah, the mindset has been brilliant; we know if keep playing good cricket, we are going to be hard to beat
Sikandar Raza, Player of the Match: Any role is given to me, I'm happy to do it as long as I've practiced it in the nets (done it before). We did't think it was a 189 wicket. We thought it was a 160 wicket. We're pretty confident when we got 189, when we got wickets in powerplay, we thought we were in the game. Those guys (Scott Kuggeleijn and Olly Stone) have been standing up for us in every game. These are the guys we rely on. Scotty got a four-fer today; those two guys keep turning up for us and. I'm going to see those Zimbabwe fans (in the stands), spend some time with them and have a bit of banter with them.
