That is all for tonight's coverage of ILT20. Do join us tomorrow for the match between Desert Vipers and MI Emirates in Abu Dhabi. From Chandan Duorah and myself (Rvel Zahid), it's goodbye and goodnight!
Warriors register an emphatic win after pulling off a sensational bowling performance. Naveen-ul-Haq took a brilliant fifer but it was Chris Woakes who strangled the opposition with an incredible display of swing bowling upfront. He was too good for the Giants' batters and that opening burst pushed Giants to the wall. Only Chris Lynn, David Wiese and Chris Jordan got into double figures as wickets fell at regular intervals on a tricky surface where the ball was holding up and not coming nicely onto the bat. Once again, credit to Warriors bowlers for nailing their variations and stymieing the run-flow. Excellent spell from Junaid Siddique who stuck to his guns and got the massive breakthroughs of Banton and Hetmyer. Warriors have now registered back-to-back wins and move up to the fourth position while Gulf Giants still hold their grip on the top spot
Naveen-ul-Haq, Player of the Match:Â "Got lucky, to be honest, but that's the nature of the game. Great to contribute to the team's win. Some times when you attack, you get hit but that's how it goes and that's how I play my game and I will try to control my swing batter, I haven't bowled that many sides before."
Moeen Ali:Â "Great win in the end. It was swinging and we wanted to make the most of the powerplay, Woakes was outstanding tonight. Hopefully, we are peaking at the right time. Just felt today I was not needed to bowl."
James Vince:Â "(The surface) was trickier to bat on, the way they bowled upfront was brilliant. 150 odd on this ground, you are always in the game chasing but a few soft dismissals at the top. We're halfway through the group stages now, (we'll) try and be a little sharp in that next game."
