10.50pm Right then, that's all the action from the ILT20 today. The first game saw some very good performances with both bat and ball, and a thumping win for Dubai Capitals. This is Abhimanyu Bose, signing off on behalf of Ekanth and Chandan Duorah.
10.40pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
Dubai Capitals captain Rovman Powell, who is also the player of the match: "I think we went pretty well. The information the guys sent back while batting was very useful. We were trying to get to 150 because we thought that was a good total, but luckily we were able to get to 180. [On how they changed gears after first 10 overs] We know that spinners would be useful and they have two quality spinners in Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein so we were just trying to save wickets for the back end and we did well. [On the two UAE bowlers] I thought they were excellent. We knew they would have to bowl four overs each and they showed there's a lot of talent in the UAE. [On him bowling] Depends on the make up of the team. Today we had a bowler short so we knew me and Ravi Bopara had to bowl a few. I was good with the bat so I thought I'd bowl a few as well."
Sunil Narine: "I think we started well [with the ball]. The first 10 overs were not that bad. But we bowled some loose deliveries. It was just the first game so hopefully we learn from it. See our mistakes and try to improve. The pitch was helpful, especially for the seamers. It swung and seamed so I think early wickets will be key in the tournament"
10.37pm Dubai Capitals start off with a 73-run win, and they always looked on top. Joe Root and Robin Uthappa both had good outings opening the innings for them and then Rovman Powell let loose. Sikandar Raza, Ravi Bopara and Isuru Udana helped them finish strong, setting Abu Dhabi Knight Riders a target of 188. Paul Stirling hit a fine half-century, and they looked like they could make a game out of it while he was still there, but they crumbled from 71 for 2 to 103 for 9, with Andre Russell and Sunil Narine failing to come to the party. Powell led from the front with the ball as he did with bat, taking two wickets including that of Stirling. Akif Raja and Mujeeb Ur Rahman took two each as well, while Raza, Udana and Hazrat Luqman took one each as every bowler registered a wicket.
Udana will finish things off for Dubai Capitals
