Kyle Myers and Andries Gous played some glorious shots and got decent starts but both were dismissed in the first seven overs. Charith Asalanka then took over the mantle, entertaining the crowd royally as he feasted on the runs, top-scoring with a vital 74-run contribution. Alishan Sharafu continued to cash in on his red-hot form but retired hurt towards the end after getting hit on the helmet. By then, though, he had already done plenty of damage. Sikandar Raza was the pick of the bowlers, showing a full array of variations. It's uncertain whether he'll come out to bat after his heroic effort to catch at mid-off, which may have injured his wrist and possibly his ribs. Dushmantha Chameera was excellent at the death, consistently firing pinpoint accurate yorkers and staying one step ahead of the batters in terms of planning. It's a defendable total, one that will test Dubai Capitals, especially with Raza's injury status still unclear, as he is a key cog in the side. We'll be back shortly

Chameera to Holder, 1 run, Low full-toss wide of off, toe-ended to extra cover and will have to settle for a single. Excellent couple of overs from Chameera

Chameera to Holder, no run, Bustling in, saw him sashaying across his stumps and cleverly pushed it wider of off and away from his blade. Remarkable bowling from Chameera! It was a full delivery

1
Chameera to Russell, 1 run, Low full-toss with venom outside off, drags it across the line towards midwicket and Russell gives up and is content to go for a single. Win for the bowler

Chameera to Russell, no run, Another pitch-perfect pinpoint accurate wide yorker, this is a fascinating battle between these two. Yorker has stood the test of time no matter which format of the game
19.2
0
Chameera to Russell, no run, Goes full again, spearing it wide of off, draws him outside his crease, it's pacy and hostile, he can't lay bat on it. He is good at death, might as well use him only at death going forward in this tournament

1
Chameera to Holder, 1 run, Over the wicket, wide slip. Length-ish with width, clattered away into the covers, there's protection in the deep

McCoy to Holder, 1 run, Once again, eyeing the midwicket region; shortish and speared across off, smoked it flat and Mcmullen almost pulled off a screamer, glided in the air and pouched it like a tiger hunting its prey and then couldn't hold on as he was close to the rope and falling but had the awareness to toss the ball into the air before touching the boundary cushion and that too when he was in the air. Marvelous effort. Third umpire checking from different angles if he saved the boundary. Looked amazing in real time
18.5
6
McCoy to Holder, SIX, Pulverizes him way over midwicket for half a dozen! Stays deep, stretches front-leg and slaughters the half-tracker into the stands. Hefty blow
18.4

McCoy to Holder, no run, Once again targeting the grandstands at midwicket and baffled him with a slow short of a length delivery outside off
18.3

McCoy to Holder, no run, Goodish length, slanted across off, biffs it back to the bowler; wanted to swing for the fences
18.2
1
McCoy to Russell, 1 run, Shortish and cramped him for room, cracked off his midriff to deep backward square, well-timed intervention in the deep prevents a boundary
18.2
1nb
McCoy to Russell, 1 no ball, Good length outside leg-stump, shimmies and follows the path, wanted to help it along its way; fantastic grab by the keeper. McCoy has overstepped. How costly will be this error? It was a big no ball

McCoy to Holder, 1 run, Over the wicket, length and shaping across off, drills it away to the right of long-on

Chameera to Holder, 1 run, Wide yorker, pushed quite far across off, slapped away to deep backward point. Excellent comeback by Chameera towards the death

W
Chameera to Asalanka, OUT, Shorter than the blockhole on middle and Asalanka takes his fellow countryman on, uses lots of bottom hand and whacks it away towards deep midwicket and cow corner, picks out Haider who holds onto it brilliantly and didn't lose it while tumbling. Terrific knock from the Sri Lankan. That is the fielding standard we expect at this level

Chameera to Russell, no run, Beautiful run-up, liquid smooth-rolling action. Another superb yorker tailing in at off, jams his bat down and once again cannot lay bat on it
17.2

Chameera to Russell, no run, Spiteful yorker wide of off, tries to slap it away but is unable to connect
17.1
1
Chameera to Asalanka, 1 run, Length ball, angling across middle, doesn't need second invitation when it's in his slot, went downtown with full force in his muscles and bat turned, dropped at long-off region, he had oodles of time to get under and he did settle under but then fluffed it, simple chance gone begging

Chameera is back; was expensive in previous bursts. Physio is back on the field and the on-field umpire wanted to make sure Sharafu is okay and they have to take physio's advice and I think it's a good decision. Safety is paramount so Sharafu has retired hurt, not going to bat any further, looked a bit disoriented

McCoy to Sharafu, no run, Ouch. That was a nasty mean one and really well-directed at middle, he was committed to the pull, went for it but got hit on the helmet and there will be a mandatory concussion test

McCoy to Asalanka, FOUR, Short and wide, chases it with full force in his arms; gets something on it and it flies away from the keeper and there's no cutting that off. McCoy has been inconsistent with his tactics
