Nicholas Pooran: "Everywhere you play, there are different conditions. Understanding the game and situation [is what works for me]. It's a wonderful surface."

8.17pm Just 24 runs come in the death overs, which included four wickets. Three of those fell in the final over, as MIE lost their way to get restricted to 187 despite looking good for a total around 210. The pitch seemingly slowed down, and the cutters and other variations worked well for DC's bowlers. But MIE were led by their captain Pooran, who smashed six sixes in his innings of 59, and Banton, who scored a steady 74. Join us for the chase in ten to see where this goes.

Gulbadin Naib to Zahoor Khan, no run, goes for the pull, and is beaten! Another short ball from Naib, who bowls outside off, before the ball angles away. Zahoor and Hosein don't go for the bye, so it's a dot to end the over

Zahoor to face the hat-trick ball

Gulbadin Naib to Joseph, OUT, Naib on a hat-trick! Joseph is taken at long leg! Joseph comes out swinging and perishes first ball. Naib bowls with a scrambled seam, and yet again, goes short. The ball jumps off the surface on leg stump, and with Joseph getting his front leg out of the way and getting cramped for room, goes for the pull

Gulbadin Naib to Pollard, OUT, well taken by short third! Dunk had to keep his eyes on the ball, which was ballooned up, even as he moved a few steps across to his right. Naib banged it short again, and got some good bounce around sixth stump. Pollard went half-slashing-half-swatting, and only managed to send the ball soaring off the top half of the bat

KA Pollard c Dunk b Gulbadin Naib 22 (19b 2x4 1x6) SR: 115.78

1
Gulbadin Naib to Hosein, 1 run, on the bounce to deep midwicket's left. He gets a length ball angling across and finishing in the channel outside off, and goes heaving at it across the line

Hosein

W
Gulbadin Naib to Shepherd, OUT, finds deep-backward square leg! That was sent flying high into the sky, but it seemed to have come off the higher side of the bat. Naib bowled short again, and around sixth stump. Shepherd cleared his front leg and went pulling at it, but mistimed it with the ball getting big on him

R Shepherd c Chameera b Gulbadin Naib 4 (3b 1x4 0x6) SR: 133.33

Gulbadin Naib to Pollard, 1 run, on a short of a length just outside off, with a hint of movement away. Swatted down long-on with all the force in the world

Can Pollard and Shepherd take MIE to 200?

Naib will bowl the final over

Chameera to Pollard, no run, well bowled! Chameera goes for a wide yorker outside off, and Pollard looks to flash at it but misses
18.1

Chameera to Pollard, FOUR, a low full toss - nearly a yorker- and it still goes for four! Pollard clipped at it powerfully, and timed that well enough while using the pace on the ball to drive between long-on and deep midwicket

Stone to Banton, OUT, that was muscled... but right to the man at deep midwicket! I thought the ball would almost break into two there. Just three runs off the first four balls of the over, and Banton departs in looking for a big hit. On a short of a length around sixth stump from Stone, and Banton went swat-pulling hard at it. But the boundary at midwicket was the bigger one, and he ended up giving a catch to the fielder there

Stone to Pollard, 1 leg bye, shorter side of a length around off, and shaping in to cramp him for room. He looks to dab it down, but the ball hits his body and drops close to off. They go for a leg bye
