4:11pm An innings that lasted almost two hours has yielded only 154 runs for the Vipers. Not a lot to shout home about, apart from captain Munro notching up a half-century. He too lacked rhythm, as did the rest of the batters. There were useful cameos towards the end by Rutherford and Shaheen but not enough to take the Vipers past the 160-run mark.
The Knight Riders will be largely pleased with their bowling effort. Imad Wasim set the tone early in the powerplay, picking up Hales and Hose. Russell then bagged Hasaranga, before Narine cleaned up Narine. At the death, Russell and Ali Khan executed their yorkers to perfection to ensure they have a very chaseable target in front of them. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Imad Wasim: (Plans in the powerplay) We have been struggling in the powerplay. Credit goes to the captain and the management that they trusted me. There was help if you bowled in the good areas. In the second over, it was my instinct that they were going to go for the big shots and I tried to flight the ball more. Really happy about that. 165-170, I feel, was a par score (on this surface). 154…hopefully we can chase it down.
