7:58pm Wow, that was some innings by MI Emirates. Waseem, in particular, set the tone during the powerplay and put the Vipers under all sorts of pressure. Fletcher was slower off the blocks but caught up once the powerplay finished. Then, a couple of wickets fell quickly and it threatened to derail MI Emirates, only for Pollard to roll back the years and produce a 19-ball fifty. Mousley, on debut, did his bit too, meaning that MI Emirates now have a mountain of runs to defend.

As for the Vipers, well, they were put to the sword tonight. Their execution left a lot to be desired and their planning was not quite up to scratch either. The pitch, in their defence, did not offer them much, although they could have done better to restrict MI Emirates to a slightly smaller score. They are certainly under the pump at this stage, and you reckon they'd need something special to pull this one out of the fire. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Andre Fletcher: (On opening) It is a good feeling. Got an opportunity to do what I love. (On the surface) It was really good. We have been struggling with the bat as a unit and it was good that we could get a good total on the board. We don't want to take things for granted but we can hopefully defend this.

Pathirana to Pollard, SIX, that is humongous! Gets to fifty too, off just 19 balls! In the slot outside off stump and guess what happens to those, they go miles! Plants his front foot and pumps it a 100 metres over long off!

Right. Pollard needs six runs to get to a fifty. Can he get there?

Pathirana to Mousley, 1 run, full delivery on leg stump. Mousley glances it down to short fine leg and gets across to the other end

Pathirana to Mousley, FOUR, four more! Short and outside off stump. This one hurries onto Mousley but because he is swinging so hard, he gets a top edge that flies over the keeper

Pathirana to Mousley, 1 wide, length delivery fired down the leg side. Mousley does not get any bat on it as the umpire indulges in a bit of exercise

Pathirana to Mousley, FOUR, low full toss just outside off stump. Mousley sits back in his crease and muscles it past long on for another boundary!

Pathirana to Mousley, no run, huge appeal, and given! Low full toss on off stump that seems to curve in very late. Mousley has a swing at it and seems to miss as the ball smashes into the pads, right in front of the stumps. The umpire has no hesitation in raising his finger but Mousley wants to have another look. No bat involved but Ball Tracking says that the impact is just outside off stump! Mousley survives!

We have a review ongoing for an lbw

Pathirana to Mousley, 1 wide, full and wide outside off stump. Mousley shuffles across, swishes and misses. But the umpire thinks it is wide enough to be called a wide. Slightly harsh call, in my opinion
