3:43pm A very perplexing innings by the Knight Riders. They looked in control for a large chunk of it but they were unable to turn it up a notch when required. The Knight Riders still managed 47 runs in the last five overs, although that throws light on how their batting lacked intent for a significant chunk. In the end, they only lost four wickets, yet, failed to breach the 150-run mark. Russell looked uncharacteristically scratchy. Stirling top-scored but did not find his usual rhythm. Asalanka impressed at the death but did not have enough deliveries to make more of an impact.
As for the Warriors, they used the dimensions and the conditions well. They bowled into the track, and did not offer the batters much pace. Noor, in particular, was superb as he tied Russell in knots throughout his spell. Jawadullah and Naveen also fulfilled their roles, meaning that the Warriors, at the half-way stage, might be the happier of the two sides. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Paul Stirling: Nice to get back here. It was a fairly tricky wicket. Nice to get a few runs. Hopefully we have enough on the board. As the ball got older, it was tougher. Hopefully we can utilize that. (On the total) If the wicket stays the same, I think we are in the game.
