12:25pm A good lower-order act helps Zimbabwe get close to 200! At 83 for 6, they were treading familiar path. They were 110 for 8 when Jongwe, who looked quite at ease, fell. But Evans and Ngarava helped the tail wag and added 70 together. In that phase, India struggled to find answers and it seemed Zimbabwe would cross 200, which could be a psychological advantage. Once Ngarava was castled by a perfect Prasidh yorker, it was only a matter of time. Prasidh and Axar both returned with three wickets apiece. But Chahar's initial burst and his haul would make India happy and comfortable in equal effect. 189 is probably not enough for India, but will they be challenged? Back with the chase in about half an hour.

Meanwhile here's Brad Evans: "I back myself as a batsman. We just tried to keep it simple, just 'watch the ball, hit the ball'. He seems to wield the willow very well. I think what we want to do in this series is show that we can compete at this level. For a long time, we haven't even played this guys. If we can knock their top order, it could go a long way in helping our confidence."

"Richard Ngarava and Brad Evans' 70-run partnership is Zimbabwe's 4th highest for the 9th wicket in ODIs. In their previous ODI against Bangladesh, Ngarava added 68 runs with Victor Nyauchi, which was the highest 10th wicket stand for Zimbabwe," says Sampath, our statsman.

Jayanta: "India should look at the extras they conceded. 25 so far, out of which 9 are wides. Giving couple of additional overs to other quality batting teams might prove precarious in the long run"

Patel to Nyauchi, OUT, Good catch from Gill and Zimbabwe are bowled out for 189. It is also Axar's 50th wicket in ODIs. The quicker arm ball outside off, Nyauchi goes back to punch it and gets a thick, late edge. It grazes Samson's leg and Gill did well to stick his right hand out and grab that.
