After a hard-fought win, India seal the series with their second victory. Sri Lanka's start was much more promising with a big stand up-top. But not finding quick runs later continued to trouble them. It wasn't for a lack of trying, the pitch did slow down, the batters couldn't connect with the big shots, Kaur bringing herself on helped. In the second innings, the tide in the first-half seemed to flow to the opposite currents as India got a good start but stumbled again. But they had bought time, which they used with limited risk to get through to the win.
Harmanpreet Kaur, India Captain and POTM for 31* and 1 for 12: Happy, hitting runs always feels good. I'm happy that we batted well on a slow and turning track. We found singles and played like we wouldn't lose a wicket. Them playing well is a part of the game, they can give a hard time. I felt the pitch will slow down as the game went along and I'm happy that things went accordingly. Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Captain: We batted really well, but we did not play at our best in the last 6 overs. We were 15 short. Harman and Smriti also batted well. Vishmi is young and played well, they don't have much experience but will hopefully improve.
NK: "3 of 5 Indian wickets stumped" Should have been a couple of run outs too.
5:04 pm: Handshakes all around. The players look in good spirit. The chase started well with Shafali and Meghana providing quick runs up top, Mandhana was stable. But after the tenth over, the breaks were applied by wickets from Oshadi, Ranaweera, and Sugandika. After Jemimah went early, it looked like there would be no further boundaries in the game. The bowlers hit lengths well but the fielding and India's iffy running meant the tug-of-control continued. Yastika and Kaur tried to steer India with ones and twos, the earlier batters had added a cushion which they could use. Eventually, they made it with five balls to go.
