9.50pm: Here's Adam Zampa, talking to BT Sport: "It's a series win, that's important to us against a good England side. Vince and Billings today, looked like it was going to be tough but we got a couple of big wickets. It was a hard wicket to start on. It was going to swing early, we felt the wicket was up and down. Knew reverse swing would come in later, and we made it tough for them. We're disappointed with how the World Cup went, England deserved to win but it's nice to get this series."
Mitchell Starc was named Player of the Match, meanwhile, but BT elected not to show the presentations from the SCG - so you'll just have to imagine how Josh Hazlewood described his captaincy debut (or better yet, stick around on the site and wait for Gnasher to file). His report will be in the slot here shortly, and we'll be back for the culmination of England's tour down under, live from the MCG next week. Thanks for your comments, from myself, Alex and Raghav, it's goodbye. Bye!
9.38pm: A hefty margin of victory in the end, belying the fact England seemed well on top of the requirement when James Vince and Sam Billings were going along. Victory puts Australia 2-0 up with one game left in the series, in Melbourne on Tuesday. We suggested at halfway that their 280, underpinned by 94 from Steven Smith, looked a challenging total, and it proved to be the case
LA Dawson lbw b Zampa 20 (39m 21b 1x4 1x6) SR: 95.23
Here's Matt Leonard: "Can confirm, that while this series defeat is slightly annoying, the overriding emotion is 'Meh, they're probably still groggy from last Sunday, whose decision was this series anyway?'"
Last over for Zampa. England's last-wicket pair need 78 from 72 to keep the series alive
