Up against it early on with the bat, but after Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali had combined to post a competitive 178, the bowler's defence was superb, backed up by fielding that was several notches better than Australia's. Sam Curran's dismissal of Tim David was the clincher, as he finished with a fine haul of 3 for 25, but Stokes was handy with the ball too, as were the left-armers Willey and Topley. They lead the series 2-0, and that's a huge boon ahead of the World Cup.
