Bates: It was nice to build some big partnerships out there, disappointed that we left two overs out there but still a very good score. Pleased to get some runs. We have opened the batting a lot even though not in official matches, we have a good rapport [with Maddy Green]. We made sure we played with a full face as there was something in the wicket early on and then against the spinners, it was about knocking it into the pockets. For our seamers it is about hitting the stumps. Once it is through here, it does seem hard to chase down but really backing our seam attack to take some early wickets.
2.20pm: Good fightback from the Indians after New Zealand were 222/3 at one stage. A slew of wickets in the latter half of the innings and the White Ferns haven't managed to bat their full quota. Suzie Bates made the most of her drop on 1 to notch up her 11th ODI ton and built stands with Amelia Kerr and Amy Satterthwaite. Bates was proactive throughout her innings and kept the scoreboard moving. India's fielding was sloppy today with Richa poor behind the stumps. The wickets were shared amongst the bowlers as New Zealand went for quick runs to get to the 300-mark. Back for the chase in 30 minutes...
