Elation for the visitors as a special bowling performance from Taskin Ahmed resulted in them skittling out the hosts for a paltry 154. South Africa got off to a good start, with Malan in fine form as they reached 50 in less than eight overs. Yet, Taskin Ahmed and the bowlers around him picked wickets at regular intervals as the hosts struggled to put partnerships together. A late rearguard action from Maharaj pushed South Africa over 150, but an avoidable run out, in keeping with the hosts' batting performance, brought things to an end.

Taskin, who finished with figures of 5-35, had this to say:
