6.43pm Have to think that's mission successful for Sri Lanka after opting to bat at the toss. The half-century stand between Avishka and Bhanuka set the tone. Then the partnership between Avishka and de Silva. And then the stand between Avishka and Asalanka. A reminder that partnerships can do wonders in the construction of an ODI innings.
The standout batter was, of course, Avishka. His third ODI century held the batting innings together. In Asalanka's company, he even managed to upp his scoring rate.
As for Asalanka, a very busy innings that was interspersed with boundaries and quick doubles. His career-high of 72 will give the Sri Lankan camp as much pleasure as Avishka's 118.
But South Africa will be disappointed, that's for sure. They conceded 90 in the last ten, and the pacers had an evening to forget. Phehlukwayo, Nortje and Rabada were all expensive. If it wasn't for Maharaj's spell of 2 for 30, Sri Lanka could've posted a score around 320.
Time now for the dinner break in Colombo, we'll be back with the chase very soon. Who you backing for the win?

Dave: "So a no ball for missing the cut strip missed and a no ball for height missed? Lanka been a bit robbed here" -- I'm not sure the cut-strip rule applies since the batter had moved way outside leg stump too. But the no-ball for height in that Nortje over was a close one.
