12.06pm: Nathan Lyon leads Australia off after completing 400 Test wickets, then adding No. 401, 402 and 403 shortly after. Carey, meanwhile, has equalled the record for most dismissals by a keeper on Test debut with eight. He's been near-faultless behind the stumps across 153.1 overs. Pretty miserable stuff from England's middle and lower order after Malan and Root's fight on the third afternoon. We'll be back in 40 minutes to talk you through a nervy run chase...

Green to Woakes, OUT, feathered through to Carey! England have lost 8 wickets for 77 runs on the fourth morning and Australia need 20 to win after lunch. Woakes was backing away, looking to upper-cut over the slips to keep himself on strike. Green followed him with the short ball, and Woakes could only edge it through to the keeper

Said Hassani: "Instead of Jack Leach, England should bring in Moeen Ali for the second test to give them some momentum." -- You must have missed his retirement from Tests, Said. And Mo took 5 wickets at 100+ on England's last tour to Australia!

Cameron Green returns. He's bowled well throughout this Test

Another gem from Sampath: "Last time a spinner took a 5-for at the Gabba - Shane Warne in 2005 vs WI. Before that was also Warne in 1995 vs PAK"

Lyon to Leach, no run, wide on the crease, Leach wasn't sure whether to play and was cramped on the cut. Not much turn but plenty of bounce thanks to the overspin. Very late on the shot

Lyon to Leach, no run, grips from a length, left alone

The interval will be delayed with England nine wickets down. Jack Leach strides out at No. 11, with Lyon hunting a five-for. He's round the wicket, with two slips and a silly point in place

"England should declare at lunch," Geoff jokes. "They have built an imposing total already!"

Lyon to Wood, OUT, tossed up, yorks him! Much more flight from Lyon than we've seen throughout the majority of this Test and some drift too. Very full, sneaking under the toe of Wood's bat as he came forward to drive, and it trims the outer half of off stump thanks to plenty of turn off the straight. Lyon has four, Australia have nine, England have big problems!

My colleague Andrew McGlashan has this: "Simon Taufel is making an interesting point on Channel 7 that Australia's target may be too small for England to make up much of their over-rate issue from first innings. He estimates they are 7-8 overs short at the moment."
