Christin Jacob: "How many dot balls in India innings??" --- 181 if I've counted em right.
Wilson: "201 is below par, but I've got a feeling that this will be enough with Goswami running through the top and middle order. Hopeful..!! "
Ashish: "Huffing and Puffing , india jave reached 201/8. So about a RR of 4. Do I still need to say anything? This has been the story for oast matches and same continues. Even if England lose this, they won't get any panic atleast by looking at the target."
2.21pm A tame start culminates in a tame finish. Through the middle, there was little to say India were in control. England have done sensationally in this series opener. Overhead conditions are favourable here, but this does look a good surface. The swing was out inside five overs, but England had plans and bowled to them. From another lens - India allowed them to do that. Perhaps only Shafali and Deepti's innings can said to be free-flowing to an extent, but otherwise - a few middling innings, an anchor innings from Mithali Raj, and not a lot else at the end. Shrubsole and Brunt did the job early on and Ecclestone was used brilliantly at the end when India looked to have opened up for a big innings. 202 should make England feel pretty warm. We're back for the chase in a bit.
Wilson: "Well, that was a tough decision. The umpire had to take a call, but I wonder why it wasn't given to the batter on the benefit of doubt. Again, these are the kind of decisions where the fans would say out or not out depending on which side you support. "
