Also Miller's first ODI fifty coming in less than 30 balls

1.50pm A South African batting performance reminiscent of the pink ODIs that featured AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and co. Everyone in the SA batting order did their part. Markram with the solid start, de Kock and Bavuma with the hard work to set up the death overs and after that the assault from David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen. The target could've been way more had Rauf not been so tidy in his last two overs. A bowling performance for Pakistan to forget. Shaheen went for 75, Hasnain for 74, Faheem and Shadab went for over 60. For Pakistan to win the match and clinch the series, they'll have to pull off their highest ODI chase outside Asia. Be back soon with the second innings.

David Miller: "Enjoyed it. Good to get momentum back end. We applied ourselves better compared to the last game. Tried to play the game we are best at. Big thing was partnerships and today we had some big ones. Wanderers is always high scoring, so need to assess things after the Powerplay and the 20-25 overs mark. After that you just hit and hope. Klaasen said '400' would've been good (at some stage), but we thought 350 would be about par. At the end, I was feeling a bit itchy not getting strike. But it happens."

Abaid Awan: "Being Pakistani does not look good but David Miller has played an outstanding inning at the end. Babar Azam and company really have to play aggressively today to cross this mountain like target."

Khawar Mushtaq : "It will be a tight contest. Fakhar zaman has to play big innings toda with middle order to chase. "

Faraz: "SA need a better bowling effort this time.In 1st match SA fielding was very poor and so as ordinary bowling from all except Nortje. This match they need all their bowlers to lift their game to put up a fight. "

Mayank : "Miller didn't face a single delivery for 2 overs on the trot. Otherwise score could have been 360"

Shaheen Shah Afridi to Miller, 2 runs, yorker length, on middle. Drilled to long on, and they get the second! 27-ball fifty for Miller and South Africa reach 341/6

Needs two for his fifty.

Tanay Agarwal: "Could this be the series where the re-emergence of Proteas starts? Have two good openers, a new solid captain at No.3, then a complete player at No.4 (RVD), No.5/No.6 (Miller/Klassen) to provide finishing touches with an all-rounder at No.7 (Andile) followed by fearsome pace trio and then a solitary spinner! Looks a team in progress but can be really competitive in the years to come! Very balanced!"

Shaheen Shah Afridi to Miller, 2 runs, gets back on strike! Mistimes this slog to deep midwicket, but enough to take two

4
Shaheen Shah Afridi to Miller, FOUR, yorker length, on off. But he backs away before creaming a grounded square drive that races away to the deep extra cover boundary

Shaheen Shah Afridi to Miller, SIX, smoked it! Again, full on leg. Again he makes room. And he has deposited this over deep midwicket
