5.18pm Well, it's an imposing total, but did India leave 20 runs out there at the death? Topley was excellent in the line of fire, as the Pandya brothers' most violent intentions were limited. But overall, it was an impressive innings from India, with KL Rahul's anchoring century laying the platform in partnership with Virat Kohli, before Rishabh Pant sauntered out to do Pantish things. His 77 from 40 lit the blue touchpaper.
"A hot, hot day, happy with what we've achieved in the 50 overs," says Rahul. "Scoring runs make you more confident, I was disappointed I couldn't score runs in the T20s, but sometimes you have to go through the journey. Today it was important to get that partnership with Virat, and Rishabh, and playing my roles with responsibility."
On that celebration ..." it's self-explanatory, to shut out the noise, no disrespect, but there are people out there who will try to pull you down and criticise..."
"When Virat and I were in the middle, 300-plus was what was required keeping in mind the way England bat. Very happy to get to 330-plus."
Right, time for a brew. Saurabh will be here shortly to pick up the tale.
