8.08pm Well, Rizwan held Pakistan together there, particularly while Adil Rashid was sorting out the top-order with his career-best figures. But apart from Hasan Ali, there wasn't much support. And nor could Rizwan see enough of the strike at the end. Moeen Ali did a fine job too, no boundaries off his four overs.

"It'll be a good game, they've got a decent score," says Moeen. "I tried to bowl quite quick, there was enough there. Rash takes wickets, he said he didn't feel good but still took four wickets. If we play well, and one or two guys get it, it'll be a good game." The ball is definitely spinning though. It won't be a cakewalk. Alan will be here in a mo for the resumption.

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, 2 runs, another slow slower ball, back of a length, clawed to deep midwicket, well hustled on the second. A fine death over, and Pakistan have 154 on the board. Is it enough?

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, no run, such a slow slower ball! Rizwan danced at the crease, lining up the ramp with fine leg up, but the ball is still trying to reach his stroke!

Rashid comes into the circle at fine leg as Morgan rings the changes for Rizwan

Talha: ""Another yorker, another swipe, under-edged to the leg side. He keeps the strike"Are you a poet too?" Doesn't quite scan. Must try harder...

1
Jordan to Hasan Ali, 1 run, dips into the toes, well bowled again, as Hasan slaps to mid-on

RiwajAdhikari: "So folks, Alan Hardy just had a chat with Andrew Miller on ESPNcricinfo commentary today!" It happens, I am very chatty...

Jordan to Hasan Ali, no run, fires in the yorker, passes the leg stump in front of Hasan's toes. Well bowled

2
Jordan to Hasan Ali, 2 runs, outside off, cuffed over the off-side! Clears two men inside the ring, as they keep the scampering going

Patrick: "Mr Hardy obviously not aware that Willey is usually good at the top of the innings, hence the 5 an over, then almost always gets launched at the death, hence the reluctance to go back to him. They need to know if Mahmood can bowl at the death." That Mahmood factor is particularly pertinent I reckon.

Jordan to Hasan Ali, no run, outside off, a mow through the line, and no contact! Jordan goes for the yorker, and that was right in the slot! Lucky not to travel!

Jordan to wrap things up

Mahmood to Hasan Ali, 1 run, another yorker, another swipe, under-edged to the leg side. He keeps the strike

Ali: "Hasan Ali justified his replacement of Azam Khan as a batsman by beating his average with this score" Poor old Azam had just seven balls in the first two games

Mahmood to Hasan Ali, FOUR, violent wiped off the outside edge! Yeehar, buckle up! Hasan has a hack, and Buttler can't get close!
18.4
1
Mahmood to Mohammad Rizwan, 1 run, wide line again, yorker length, excellent areas, cuffed to the on-side with no timing

Alan Hardy: "And now it's the expensive Mahmood... while Willey who's gone for 5 an over twiddles his fingers." There's really no pleasing you tonight is there?

Mahmood to Mohammad Rizwan, 1 wide, wide line, deliberately so, but cuts the tramlines on the wrong side
18.3
1
Mahmood to Hasan Ali, 1 run, fuller this time, another big wind-up and a hack off the deck, out to deep cover

Salman: "You can use this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" That's the badger, life was too short to type it myself

Mahmood to Hasan Ali, SIX, hammered over the leg side! No messing from Hasan this time, hard length, back of a length, but met with a fierce wipe across the line

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, no run, tucked up on the leg stump, a scampered single. Two to come... 160 is looking the limit of their ambitions now

Alan Hardy: "Hmm... Jordan bowling so only one more for Willey - again, Willey tidier than Jordan, who's bowling on his 'death bowling' rep..." If only the Cricinfo CMS could manage emojis, I'd respond with a *shrug*

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, FOUR, flashed through the off-side, Rizwan makes room to leg, then climbs into the drive as Jordan follows him into his arc

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, 2 runs, fires in the yorker, on the leg stump, chiselled out to the leg side

Shahzada: "Babar is not a power hitter, for some reason he kept trying to muscle the ball which is not his game, instead of taking it deep, like all others, Pakistan has lost this series already." Steady on, this pitch is spinning sharply..

W
Jordan to Imad Wasim, 2 runs, OUT, hacked on the up, over backward point as Bairstow tumbles inside the rope to cut off the four. A fine shy, and there's a review for the run-out! Jordan gathers in front of the stumps, flicks quickly with Imad six inches short! Terrible running... he was jogging all the way, and turned half a length behind his partner as the shy came to the far end!

Imad Wasim run out 3 (5m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 150.00

AllenG : "Mate so you're telling me in a squad of 23 players root cannot find a spot?" Seems ludicrous doesn't, but given his workload this year, and the wealth of options, and the bio-bubble element, seems unlikely

Jordan to Mohammad Rizwan, 1 run, slower ball, fetched with a cross-batted flog to the on-side

Alan Hardy: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Livingstone tidy and Rashid expensive, so Rashid gets a bowl... captains so often get this wrong." Nailed it, to be fair

W
Rashid to Shadab Khan, OUT, final ball four-for! An ambitious hoick, with the ball turning away from the short boundary, toe-ended with great ambition but no finesse, into the leg side for Livingstone to cling on. Those are Rashid's T20I best figures

Shadab Khan c Livingstone b Rashid 2 (8m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

Rashid to Shadab Khan, no run, quicker, flatter, into the pitch, can't get the elevation on that one

Badar: "@Matt, you're spot on. England are doing their homework for the WC just fine. They're on the right track. Livingstone has surely edged out Root." Indeed. I made this very point on the Switch Hit pod this week.
