- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR0.5 huge appeal, and it's given! It seemed to be full enough to be pitching in line with the stumps and hitting them too, but Burns has reviewed it... On the fuller side of a length, pitching in line with leg stump or maybe just outside, and straightening in to beat the inside edge as Burns defends without a big stride forward. It's pitched just in line with leg stump, and Hawkeye has it clipping the top of middle stump, so Burns will have to walk back. Bumrah's struck in the first over of the series! The previous ball left Burns from a similar spot and beat his outside edge. This one's held its line and beaten the inside edge. Top, top bowling 0/127.3 got him, can't say that was planned. Fullish, angling into the stumps, and Sibley flicks it in the air, straight to the fielder at short midwicket. He didn't quite get his head on top of the ball there, and ended up meeting the ball in front of his body. Also looks like he closed his bat face a touch early, and it went off - not the leading edge, but the leading half of the bat 66/320.6 Carbon copy delivery, and another review! This time is it definitely for caught behind... lift off the deck, zipping at the inside-edge before flicking the back thigh... and though Kohli initially looks aghast, actually there is a spike! Extraordinary, he thought he'd burned his review, and so did I from his own reaction... but India strike in the final push to lunch 42/258.1 and he strikes first ball! It looks plumb, so plumb that Root doesn't bother reviewing. Full, angling into middle and leg and then straightening - regular outswinger starting from a straighter line than normal. I guess Root was looking for more swing than there actually was, and ended up playing outside the line while trying to flick. What a wicket! 155/750.2 full and straight! If this isn't an inside-edge Bairstow could be in trouble! Sure enough, India review. Pinned on the crease, tight line with late movement back into the front pad... doesn't look like an inside-edge, but a ricochet off the front to back pad may have caused a double noise... and yep, that is plumb! 138/450.6 Shami's struck again, has he? Yup, Lawrence is walking off, no review. Length ball, down the leg side, and Lawrence flicks and sends a little tickle down to Pant. Two in one over, and England's lower order might have to do a 2018 again to pull them out of this hole 138/555.5 got him, this is terrific bowling. Buttler's been edgy right through this innings. He's seen out 17 dot balls, and now he presses forward and feels for a length ball that's angling into the corridor from wide of the crease and straightening off the deck. All he manages is a thin edge through to Pant. Didn't play that well at all, pressing forward but his weight leaning back on a half-hearted drive 145/658.4 two in the over! Soft dismissal, this. Shortish ball outside off, and did that stick in the pitch a little? Maybe. Looks to pull, checks his shot, and ends up popping it feebly into the hands of mid-on 155/859.6 big lbw appeal, surely that's out, and yes, no hesitation from Michael Gough. Full, angling into middle stump and swinging late to straighten. Broad is camped on the back foot, looks to play the angle, and he's beaten by a long way and is hit on the back pad. It's out in every way possible 160/965.4 ping! Savage off-stump seeking inswinging yorker. Absolutely no chance of keeping that out! Reminiscent of Mitchell Starc to Ben Stokes in the World Cup group match at Lord's. Bending in wickedly to the left-hander, thumping the stump flush... and if Stokes couldn't combat it, Jimmy had no chance! 183/10Extras13 (b 1, lb 8, nb 4)TOTAL183 all out (65.4 Overs, RR: 2.78)Fall of wickets: 1-0 (Rory Burns, 0.5 ov), 2-42 (Zak Crawley, 20.6 ov), 3-66 (Dom Sibley, 27.3 ov), 4-138 (Jonny Bairstow, 50.2 ov), 5-138 (Dan Lawrence, 50.6 ov), 6-145 (Jos Buttler, 55.5 ov), 7-155 (Joe Root, 58.1 ov), 8-155 (Ollie Robinson, 58.4 ov), 9-160 (Stuart Broad, 59.6 ov), 10-183 (James Anderson, 65.4 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR37.3 short ball, hoisted to backward square leg! England have a wicket, moments before lunch! The bouncer has been a rarely used weapon today, and Rohit succumbs! He was never in control, as the ball got big around his lid, he committed to the stroke, but Curran was right back on the rope, and that's a vital glimmer for a beleaguered home team 97/168.5 gone, Anderson's broken through. Bowls it full outside off, but it wasn't as full as the one he drove to the cover boundary. Straightens off the seam, and Rahul edges it through to Buttler while looking to drive through mid-off. Anderson goes past Anil Kumble to become the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. Superb innings from Rahul on his Test comeback. The struggles of 2018-19 seem to be well behind him now 205/640.2 finds the edge, but did that carry? It goes upstairs, and the soft signal is out... It's a super delivery from Anderson, starting out looking like an inswinger and then seaming away from an off-stump line and the perfect length. Pujara presses forward to defend, and gets a thin edge that just about carries into Buttler's gloves. Excellent catch diving forward 104/240.3 and he gets Kohli first ball! Wow! On the fuller side of a length, in the corridor, and again it just holds its line after threatening to swing in. Kohli stretches out to defend, he may have wanted to leave that possibly, but it wasn't that wide either. Edges it, and this time it carries at a comfortable height for Buttler 104/343.2 back of a length on off stump, and oh no, Rahane's run himself out minutes after threatening to do so! Rahul gets on the back foot and defends to the right of backward point, and quickly yells out NO, but Rahane's hared off anyway. Bairstow rushes in from backward point, picks it up quickly, and throws down the stumps direct at the bowler's end to find Rahane well short of regaining his ground, so short that it doesn't even go to the third umpire. Rahul took one step out in his follow-through and then immediately called NO, but by then Rahane was already yards out of his crease 112/449.6 popped straight to short cover! Robinson's extra bounce from a good length confounds an eager drive, the ball stops as the hands swing through, in front of the body. High on the bat, straight to the man. England have their incision! 145/574.6 length ball outside off, a bit of shape away perhaps. Jadeja slogs and loses his shape, and ends up skying it over Broad, who backtracks and takes a good catch at mid-off. Superb innings from Jadeja, falls with India's lead one short of 50 232/870.5 got him, perfect delivery. Especially if the footwork is minimal like that. Length ball on off stump, hits the seam and straightens, and Thakur defends from the crease and gets a thick edge that first slip catches falling low to his left 205/780.3 splat! Full and straight, a loose flat-footed drive from Shami, a deflection off his back pad, into the middle stump. And now's it's a race to a five-for! 245/984.5 swung huge and high to Broad at fine leg! Outstanding take in the end, galloping round the rope to intercept a uppercut pull, so much height and not a lot of distance. Grabbed with a tumble, and Robinson has five wickets! 278/10Extras20 (b 6, lb 6, nb 8)TOTAL278 all out (84.5 Overs, RR: 3.27)Fall of wickets: 1-97 (Rohit Sharma, 37.3 ov), 2-104 (Cheteshwar Pujara, 40.2 ov), 3-104 (Virat Kohli, 40.3 ov), 4-112 (Ajinkya Rahane, 43.2 ov), 5-145 (Rishabh Pant, 49.6 ov), 6-205 (KL Rahul, 68.5 ov), 7-205 (Shardul Thakur, 70.5 ov), 8-232 (Ravindra Jadeja, 74.6 ov), 9-245 (Mohammed Shami, 80.3 ov), 10-278 (Jasprit Bumrah, 84.5 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR15.1 got him, that's a lovely delivery from Siraj! Burns left a couple of probing balls in the previous over, angling across him, and this one pitches just that bit closer to him, within the line of the stumps, to force him into an uncertain prod from the crease. Scrambled seam, then it hits the pitch and seams away just a touch to take the edge 37/145.5 gone, that's a super catch from Pant! And a rare loose shot from Sibley. Wasn't full enough to drive through the covers, and it was swinging in too. Goes at it with an angled bat, and the inside edge goes a long way to Pant's left, and he plucks it out with a full-length dive. Good strong step to the left first, to enable him to push off and throw himself to his left, and catch it in both gloves 135/316.6 got him, that was very uncertain from Crawley! Bumrah induced the uncertainty with his angle from wide of the crease, angling the ball into the corridor and hitting the pitch hard, just short of a length. That angle almost forces the batter to play even when he doesn't want to. Gets it to straighten from there, and Crawley feels for the ball and edges to Pant, who takes a very good catch diving low to his right 46/280.6 got him, Bumrah gets the big wicket with the second new ball! Length ball, fifth-stump channel. Root gets forward for an open-faced steer. He's played a lot of those in this innings, but Bumrah gets the new ball to straighten and bounce a little more, and that's enough to find the edge through to Pant. It hit the bat quite high, near its shoulder 274/757.3 back of a length, slams a flat pull straight at deep square leg! Siraj puts his finger to his lips in celebration, as Bairstow utterly pummels his stroke, and Jadeja barely has time to blink! What a moment, he was settling into his work, much as he did in the first innings. But he made 29 then and 30 now, and we all know what happened last time he got out... 177/464.5 plumb lbw! Fuller length, hint of inswing, Lawrence plants his front foot and the finger is up straightaway! Lawrence is reviewing, but he's surely not getting out of this one. No inside-edge, and that's smashing middle and leg! Good riposte from Thakur, almost as though he'd set Lawrence up for that one with his loose balls earlier in the over. Adjusted the line and slammed the pad! 211/570.2 what a wicket, what a player, Shardul Thakur! Poor judgment from Buttler, you'll have to say. The ball has been reversing, and where Lawrence got too far across with his front foot and got himself in trouble, Buttler's got himself out by shouldering arms to one that didn't even start that wide outside off. Comes back in and hits the top of off stump 237/684.4 and Curran goes just as the lead touches 200. Short, and it comes in off the pitch to cramp Curran completely for room. I don't know what he was trying to do, but he's forced into a hurried pull from just in front of his hip, and pops a simple catch to Siraj at mid-on 295/885.5 makes room to leg, and slices his slash to deep third man! He had to go for broke, Bumrah wasn't go to let Anderson hang around for long. Rahane didn't have to move, five metres in from the rope at a deepish fly slip 303/1084.5 nobbled first ball! Well, what's Broad to do with that? Full, straight, swinging in, from round the wicket, lasering in on the toes, ricocheting onto the middle stump. And now we've got a fight to the death! 295/9Extras23 (b 5, lb 2, nb 10, w 6)TOTAL303 all out (85.5 Overs, RR: 3.53)Fall of wickets: 1-37 (Rory Burns, 15.1 ov), 2-46 (Zak Crawley, 16.6 ov), 3-135 (Dom Sibley, 45.5 ov), 4-177 (Jonny Bairstow, 57.3 ov), 5-211 (Dan Lawrence, 64.5 ov), 6-237 (Jos Buttler, 70.2 ov), 7-274 (Joe Root, 80.6 ov), 8-295 (Sam Curran, 84.4 ov), 9-295 (Stuart Broad, 84.5 ov), 10-303 (Ollie Robinson, 85.5 ov)

- BATSMENRBM4s6sSR10.5 edged and gone! There's the breakthrough and it's a beauty from Broad! Perfect length, drawing Rahul forward, and crucially getting some bend from the straight and narrow, to kiss the edge through to Buttler!
