7.4 Afghan leggie magic does the trick! Flighted full on off stump, gets some turn, enough to produce a top edge off the attempted slog over long-on, skies it to Laurie Evans who takes a simple catch three yards in from the rope. 51/2
1.5 six and out! Chameera sends down a slower ball at 117 kph a touch wider outside off on a similar length, flat-footed slice by Charles and it floats off a thick edge toward Bell-Drummond at backward point who lunges forward to take this at shin height. Clever bowling rewarded. 10/1
9.6 you can Qais that innings goodbye! Floats this up full on fifth stump, Bhanuka brings out the slog sweep but drags this too flat, no elevation and Bell-Drummond is perfectly placed at cow corner for the take, 10 yards inside the rope. Three for the Afghan leggie now! 66/4
9.1 the Qais of death for Shoaib's innings! First ball after the break, the Afghan leggie rips a slider down on a good length on fourth stump, just skids on past the batsman's forward nudge, big gap between bat and pad and it sneaks through to clatter off stump. 63/3
10.6 poor ball, overambitious shot, soft dismissal to backward point. Or is it? It was a very full delivery, just pitches at ankle height, batsman premeditates a reverse sweep to short third man, picks out the man on the ring. But was it a bump ball? The batsman stands his ground. Looked like it came straight off the bat live. They refer to the third umpire and it clearly shows the ball was played on a half-volley before going straight in the air to the fielder. Not sure why he stood his ground but he sheepishly walks off now. 74/5
11.6 Chameera has him now! Brilliant bowling is rewarded. Back of a length on the stumps, Thisara clears the front leg trying to drive in an effort to clear mid-off who came up into the ring, but it hits the splice on the up and knuckles toward Evans in the ring at extra cover and he takes a catch gleefully at chest height. 86/6
18.5 yorked him! Hasaranga shuffled across to flick over square leg. Mathews kept it full and straight and beats Hasaranga between his legs. Clever counterattack finally comes to an end. 142/9
12.4 bouncer claims de Silva! Russell's first three balls were all around 122 kph. This time he decides to ramp it up a notch at 135 kph and short at the body. Chathuranga is unprepared and his attempted hook results in a top edge that goes straight up before coming down tamely into the keeper's gloves. Cagey from Russell. It was allllllllll part of the plan. 87/7
17.1 slower ball from Udana, tries to slog this flat over wide long-on. Evans with a sharp catch jogging to his right along the rope, reaches across his body at chest height and bobbles the ball initially but doesn't panic and clings onto the rebound while also keeping his body under control to stay inside the rope. Evans has been a magnet in the field today. 114/8

3.4 nails him with the googly! Slows it up in the air and lands this on a good length on fourth stump, Evans is pinned to the crease after coming down the track the previous few balls. Beaten playing back trying to cut. Didn't read it at all. 28/1
5.4 tremendous at slip! Another googly claims Bell-Drummond! It was flighted full on fourth stump, sucking Bell-Drummond forward. Huge appeal, could've been for lbw or for the catch behind off the carom. Either way it's given out. Officially it goes down as lbw. Live it looked like a deflection from bat onto pad took it to slip but replays show it may have missed and gone straight in. Bell-Drummond opts against a review. He might have been outside the line of off stump had he gone for it. Replays show he was struck in line though. Good decision. 48/2
11.5 the debutant strikes! Flighted full and wide outside off, slices a skied drive high and deep toward long-off. Shoaib Malik angles his body along the rope to turn sideways and take the steam off this ball coming back to earth reaching across his body, bobbles it initially before flicking it in the air as he steps over the rope before taking it back on the rebound after reestablishing himself in the field of play. 88/3
16.4 this one is even wider outside off, no doubt it would've been called a wide had he left it alone but Russell is in hitting mode and tries to tonk this over long-off again. Instead it comes more off the toe and swirls over long-off. Avishka settles under it 10 yards in from the rope and takes the catch with palms facing into his chest. 130/4
