6:50pm That brings us to the end of our coverage for this game. But don't go anywhere, we have more LPL action lined up for you. Andrew Fidel Fernando will be bringing all the action from the evening encounter between the Galle Marvels and the Kandy Falcons. Until next time, from me, Chetan and Ranjith, this is goodbye!
Rilee Rossouw, Player of the Match: (On what changed after a slow start to the season) We moved to this ground (laughs). Kandy was a bit slow and not a batter's paradise. This has been beautiful (to bat on). (On how he approaches the innings) You give yourself a bit of time, see if it is a flat wicket and then you can go hard. We have batting till No.9 so you can have intent from the first ball. I love being at three, but I am happy to bat wherever my team needs me.
Charith Asalanka, Jaffna Kings captain: I should give credit to the bowlers. At one point, I felt they could have gone to 220 but we pulled it back very nicely. Thinking was that he (Rossouw) had a better record batting at three. Myself and the coach had a chat and told him to bat three, and he was fairly happy. We want to continue doing good things (after moving to Colombo).
Thisara Perera, Colombo Strikers captain: (On the collapse) Tough day, we started well but could not execute our middle part. We have to think about what we have to do in Colombo. (On swapping wicket-keepers today) Normally, Gurbaz is a proper wicket-keeper. We gave a chance to Sadeera (earlier in the tournament) and these are proper keepers, so they can do (the job behind the stumps).
6:36pm Ravishing Rossouw. That was the story of this innings. A clinical run-chase in the end, and it was all down to the partnership between Avishka and Rossouw. Both of the Kings' openers fell cheaply but that did not deter the pair. Rossouw began the fireworks, with Avishka following suit soon after. Even when Avishka departed, Rossouw was not to be halted, registering the fastest-ever hundred in the competition and just the second ton in LPL cricket in a run-chase. Rossouw's knock was so good that towards the end, we almost started running out of superlatives.
Another iffy outing for the Strikers with the ball. Their fielding was not great, but their tactics with the ball were questionable too. Wellalage, who bowled beautifully in the powerplay, did not bowl thereafter and by the time Pathirana arrived, the game had arguably passed them by. Shadab was also held back, perhaps because of Rossouw's presence and those decisions, along with a general lack of penetration, meant the Strikers, despite starting off well, could not curb the Kings.
Just six needed. Can the Kings finish it off in this over? Binura to bowl
