Dasun Shanaka, player of the match and Viiking captain: I should thank all the bowlers and the spinners. The youngsters were good. Pulina Tharanga and Colombage were brilliant. The pitch was a bit sticky at the start so I thought the spinners would be good. They've got a lot of right-handers in their line up so the left-arm spinners worked well against them.
Colombo Kings captain Angelo Mathews; I think they made about 20 runs too many on that wicket, which was slower than the previous ones. We lost our way in the Powerplay, but Dasun Shanaka batted well. We don't need to panic. We've got the team and we've got the firepower. We've got to get the attitude right. There's still a long way to go in this tournament. Just because we have a good team we can't walk away with a win.

It's early in the tournament, but I have to say this definitely seems like the first upset of the LPL. Kings have some seeeerious firepower in their XI, and 176 wasn't a crazy target on this pitch. Shanaka had stacked his side with spinners - particularly spinners who take the ball away from the right hander, and he marshaled them well. The wickets of Mathews and Russell, who both fell cheaply, were huge. Samit Patel, Malinda Pushpakumara, Pulina Tharanga and Anwar Ali all took a couple of wickets each.
With the bat, Shanaka had stood up once again, making 56 off 34. He had some help from Samit Patel and Angelo Perera as Viiking overcame a horror start.
Both these teams go away with two wins from three matches now.

Vanishingly slim chance that Kings can win this, but they are at least doing their run rate a favour. Will they attempt the target? 37 from 12 needed with the last-wicket pair at the crease.
