Anvith: "I think Jaffna bowling has too much quality for the late order batsmen even on the most friendly pitch we have seen thus far in this LPL. I wanted more application from the batsmen. *Sigh* But....Everybody ready for Gurbaz to hit the fastest 50 in LPL 2023 when the second innings starts soon?"

9.10pm Dambulla then end on 134 for 8, a total you suspect is a little below par. Much of the damage was done in the first over itself when both Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis were dismissed - self-inflicted dismissals at that - and from that point on Dambulla were playing catch up. Kusal Perera and Sadeera Samarawickrama tried to patch up the innings with a 51-run stand, but Jaffna broke through and then just kept picking up wickets along the way. They were great in the field too, effecting two run outs while holding on well to any chances that came their way. Will the batters now be able to finish the job? Join Fidel for the start of the chase in a bit.
