A strong show from B-Love Kandy! They have got the bragging rights tonight against the reigning champions and outgunned them in all departments of the game. Handshakes all-around as Hasaranga guides his team to a thumping win; he looked solid and scored a fluent half-century. Fakhar scrapped his way to 42 but his struggles on this pitch didn't trouble Kandy as there was no scoreboard pressure. Jaffna stymied the run-flow brilliantly in the powerplay and it was shaping up to be a low-scoring thriller before Perera bowled some looseners right after the powerplay to which Chandimal responded with a couple of meaty hits and then Hasaranga joined the party as runs started to flow for Kandy. The captain made his intentions clear right from the word go and took the wind out of Kings' sails with some incredible hitting, not giving Jaffna a sniff to come back in the game.

Thisara Perera, Jaffna Kings Captain: It was just another bad day. It happens in cricket, we can't win every day. There are some bad days so I am just concerned about our batting and we will come back strongly in the next match. I think today the wicket had uneven bounce so that's why our batters couldn't execute our plans. Even in our lives, we have failures and bad days but we will come back strongly

Wanindu Hasaranga, B-Love Kandy Captain: I try to follow on basics. The plan was a right-hander would come in if a right-hander got out and I was the only option so I came out to bat. We lost first two games but we bounced back very well. Fakhar Zaman came to the team and gave us a lot of energy. We have top class bowlers in our squad that's why we bowled them out on 117. Jaffna, they have a very good side, especially with the batting, they have good batters but in this format of cricket, we have to do our basics well
