4:45pm The innings began at breakneck speed with runs and wickets flowing. After the first three wickets fell, though, the Stars did well to consolidate, with Dickwella and Bopara steering them through the rest of the powerplay. Dickwella then moved through the gears in the middle overs, and ensured that they never fell behind the eight-ball. A few wickets at the end meant that they did not quite get the finishing kick they were after but on a track that has been a little tacky, 165 seems a pretty good score, as Dickwella said.

Some positives for Dambulla, most notably Kumara's display. But like yesterday, they were not able to put together 20 overs of consistent cricket. All is not lost yet, and with the batting unit they have, they will back themselves to chase this down. That said, you'd rather be in the Colombo camp right now. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Niroshan Dickwella: (About the score) I think it is a good total. It was a bit slow at the start. A few of our batters at the top did not realise that. Me and Ravi realised the wicket was slow and batted accordingly. Always good to get some runs. I wanted to bat throughout and it is not easy to build a partnership after losing three wickets. I think I did a pretty good job. (On the windy conditions) Feels like England (chuckles). The wicket is quite slow as well and the breeze did not help. I was planning to score on one side of the ground and that helped. This is a good score and I think we can defend it.

Madushanka to Vandersay, 1 run, OUT, slower delivery on a back of a length outside off stump. Vandersay gives it everything he has, and nearly loses his balance. Chandimal then calls him back for the second but Vandersay is never completing that run. Caught well short at the batter's end, and Colombo end with 165!
