Amir really set the tone at the top of the innings with the ball, with good support from Nuwan Thushara in the early overs. Lakshan Sandakan then came in through the middle overs and kept pegging Kings back with wickets - dismissing the dangerous allrounders Andre Russell and Angelo Mathews, as well as Ashan Priyanjan.

Daniel Bell-Drummond helped string the Kings innings together with his 44 off 36, but Gladiiators finished nicely, thanks again to Amir, whose penultimate over cost only three runs and brought two wickets, and whose last over produced two more wickets.

Gladiators will fancy their chances of chasing down 172, but Kings' attack is pretty solid, with Qais Ahmad and Tharindu Kaushal forming the spin threats, while Dhammika Prasad, Mathews and Russell will bowl seam. They are resting their fastest bowler Dushmantha Chameera for this game.

Mohammad Amir to Udana, OUT, full, wide delivery, slower one I think, which Udana tries to launch over cover. But he can only spoon that up to the cover fielder. A superbly well-deserved five-wicket haul for Amir. That's the first five-for in the tournament.

Mohammad Amir to Kaushal, OUT, bouncer over the stumps to Tharindu Kaushal, the new batsman. Kaushal tries to swipe across the line and they try to run a bye, but I think Gladiators have done well to run a diving Kaushal out at the non-striker's end.

Mohammad Amir to Qais Ahmad, OUT, is that a catch there from Danushka Gunathilaka, who takes another one of these on-the-line catches where he throws the ball up as he's going out of bounds? It looks really good on first glance. Either way, this is fullish from Amir, and Qais hits this to long on, where Gunathilaka intervenes. He catches it cleanly, tosses it up as momentum takes him over the line, and regathers after coming back over the boundary line into play. Replays suggest the fielder has done well. That's out.

Thushara to Udana, FOUR, that's a bad finish for Thushara. This is a thigh-high full toss again, and once more Udana clubs this to wide long on. This time he hasn't hit it quite as well, though, and it's a one-bounce four rather than a six. An expensive last over to ruin what was otherwise a solid outing for Thushara.

Thushara to Udana, SIX, that's a bad ball, and that's been launched for six over cow corner. Goes for another yorker but misses badly, delivering a thigh high full toss on the stumps. Udana lays into that and sends it ten metres back from the ropes

Thushara to Udana, no run, wide yorker, just inside the tram lines. Udana tries to flay this away through cover point but misses

Thushara to Udana, 2 runs, almost a yorker, a little wide of off stump. Muscled into the offside with not a lot of timing, but that's far enough from the cover fielder to get the batsmen a couple of runs

Mohammad Amir to de Silva, OUT, The dangerous Thikshila is out now! This is turning out to be a super over from Amir. This is length outside off, and Thikshila tries to launch this over the bowler's head for six. But he only ends up hitting it very high in the air, after getting through the shot early. Walton runs in from long on to safely pouch it.

Mohammad Amir to Bell-Drummond, OUT, strikes straight away to remove DBD. Caught at deep cover. This is a head-high bouncer, which DBD tries to flay over the offside for six. Gets a good connection, but it's not quite good enough. It goes to a backpedalling Dhananjaya Lakshan on the cover boundary, who catches it, tosses it up when he thinks he might step on the rope, and then regathers it. I don't think he touched the boundary in the end, but that's good technique anyway.

Jayasuriya to de Silva, SIX, banged hard, and another clean, powerful hit to turn an already expensive over into a really big one.
