Tareq: "Poor batting performance today. Ireland should get this total easily. All Bangladesh batters got start but almost all of them have thrown their wicket away." Is it that bad or have Bangladesh put up a good enough score for the pitch? Cast your votes in the poll. Sudarshanan will be back on the other side.

Mark Adair: Don't think it was that tough a wicket. We didn't bowl well first up, that was on us. Our spinners were brilliant. They bowled consistent lengths and that was all that was needed. We've played against them a lot recently, guys know opponents better. But other than that, it's just a game. 274 is a par score, tough place to defend as we found out the other day. Few good partnerships with the bat should see us home.

2:30pm: Bangladesh don't play out their 50 overs but Tamim, their captain is back into form on a sunny Essex day. Mushfiqur Rahim continued his good form, wove a crucial 75-run stand with Mehidy and took them past 250. But Adair came back and induced a collapse of 13 for 5 to reduce the total to 274. Shanto looked fluent but could not capitalise on his excellent form or start. He got a good ball from Young that led to a catch at slip. Tamim gave his wicket away and Litton got out trying a big shot. That meant Bangladesh left a few runs out there. For Ireland, Little was off-kilter, Dockrell was excellent in the middle overs, Campher was expensive, Young bowled good pace and ended with par figures under circumstances.

Adair to Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, OUT, Skier, Balbirnie sets up and takes it at cover. Mrittunjoy charged and got a slower ball on a full length, he was too early on the attempted chip over the infield. Went slow and high, Balbirnie backtracked, didn't take it cleanly but ice-cream coned it, to use Niall O'Brien's phrase, with fingers pointed up

Adair to Mustafizur Rahman, OUT, The fizz is nicked off on the off drive. No footwork, as Isobel Joyce notes on air, he tried to push the fullish ball angling away past off stump and got an outside edge. Easy catch for Tucker. Adair confirms with the ump if he has his third, sees the index finger raised. Bangladesh's collapse continues to 12 for 4
