6.03pm So here's the thing. South Africa would be happy with the target. But so would Sri Lanka, especially after being 166 for 8. One thing is for certain, spinners and change-of-pace fast bowlers are best placed for success on this deck. Also the first time that South Africa have bowled 40 overs of spin, seven more overs than their previous record of 33. What Sri Lanka will be disappointed with is the manner some of their batters got out: Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dinesh Chandimal to some extent. Keshav Maharaj was top of his game with the reviews, George Linde provided control, and Tabraiz Shamsi was unlucky not taking more than two wickets today. But Sri Lanka have two men to thank for the total of 203. Charith Asalanka nearly got his third-straight fifty in the series, making 47, and Dushmantha Chameera with his rearguard batting to ensure Sri Lanka last the whole 50 overs. We'll be back in 30 minutes with the second innings. I have a funny feeling this game is going down to the wire. Both sides will be aching for the win, remember neither has won an ODI series in 18 months!

Rabada to Theekshana, 2 runs, full and wide, outside off. Toe-ends a shot to long on for two. Rabada concedes three off the 50th and Sri Lanka finish on 203 for 9

Rabada to Theekshana, no run, good length, wider outside off. Bit of a wild swing. Can't connect

Geoff Edwards: "Did Maharaj get his sums wrong? Why did we have such strange bowling changes at the end?" -- I think he was hoping that SL fold before the 47th over so that they didn't need Andile or Wiaan. After that didn't happen, he was forced to use the sixth and seventh bowler.

Rabada to Theekshana, no run, short ball, searing pace. Has to sway away, and shuffle towards the leg side in a bid to avoid it

Rabada to Jayawickrama, 1 run, slower ball, length ball outside off. Tucks it down to third man for one

Rabada to Jayawickrama, no run, back of a length outside off. Looks to guide it to third man. Past the edge to the keeper

Last over. Rabada. Economy of over six for him today.

Mulder to Theekshana, no run, good length ball, just outside off. Angling into off. Tapped back off the front foot. And Mulder collects, before trying to throw down the stumps at the batter's end. Theekshana does very well to get out of the ball's way since he is right in front of the stumps. And it's through to the keeper. Bit of a chat between Mulder and the batter after that

Mulder to Theekshana, 1 wide, good length ball on middle, and angling down leg. Extra ball, extra run. SL have reached 200

AkilJ: "I know it looks like SA got this in the bag but with what the pitch has been doing, SL's spinners might surprise.....well, i hope so at least "

Mulder to Jayawickrama, no run, nearly two in two! Slower ball first up. Full just outside off. Presses forward to defend, but with hard hands. Pops up in the air, but just short of cover!

Mulder to Chameera, OUT, hit well, but oh dear, straight to deep midwicket! Good length just outside off, and he gets in position early to whack a shot through deep midwicket. But Malan is right there. Couple of steps to his left, and he takes the catch. That was a tracer bullet, just that it was hit too close to the fielder. Nonetheless, an important innings, giving the SL bowlers just that little bit more to bowl at.
