2.21pm: Sri Lanka are bowled out for 185: at 46 for 3 in the ninth over, they might have taken that, but they should have managed a lot more from 145 for 3 with Hasaranga and Perera batting together. But their lack of batting depth today with a threadbare squad has been exposed, and they're bowled out cheaply. Woakes was brilliant, with 4 for 18 from his 10 overs: superb with the new ball, and then making middle-over inroads. We'll be back in 30 or so for the chase.

James Farrar: "England planning on knocking these off before 4:55pm?" -- Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow - England expects.

Sageeth: "SL have 8 bowlers: 4 fast bowlers, 3 spinners, and a medium pace part timer in Shanaka. The challenge would be to use them to optimum effect. I'd start with Chameera and Binura."

Mohammed: "Not being an England fan, it is totally perplexing to me that Chris Woakes gets as few games as he does from the ECB. Dude is an economical and incisive bowler as well as a capable batsman. Why not play him more across formats??" -- There have been a lot of complications over the winter, not least him self-isolating after sharing a cab with Moeen shortly before he tested positive for Covid.

Curran to Karunaratne, 1 run, OUT, run out at the bowler's end! Much better fielding, this time from Sam Billings who is a notoriously gun outfielder. Pressed into the leg side, towards mid-on, and they immediately set off for two. Billings hares in, picks up, throws at the bowler's end, and the direct hit sees Jayawickrama well short! His second brilliant run-out in as many games.

Curran to Karunaratne, 2 runs, wide on the crease, angled in, clipped to wide long-on, and they take on Moeen Ali in the deep... and get back for two! Not great fielding, but excellent running from this pair

Curran to Karunaratne, SIX, banged in short, and nailed for six! Outta nowhere! Karunaratne has battled hard and really struggled to get going but goes full Randy Orton and bludgeons Curran over the square-leg boundary on the pull. RKO

Woakes to Jayawickrama, FOUR, length ball on middle stump, whipped wristily through midwicket! My goodness. What a shot from the No. 11! Shades of Pietersen, rolling the wrists nonchalantly and timing the ball into the gap

Woakes to Karunaratne, 1 run, flashed down to third via the outside edge. Uncertainty over the running, and bizarrely, they've taken the single

Ilanin: "Of course, for Woakes to finish near the top of that list Sri Lanka will have to survive his final over..." -- Here it comes. Karunaratne on strike. No slip

Lasantha AB: "3rd highest run scorer - Extras"

Mash: "Given teams often now intentionally put their best players of spin at 3 and 4 in T20s, do you think we'll see this happening in ODIs any time soon? Really we should be seeing Bairstow and Moeen take on Hasaranga in the middle today as England's best players of spin" -- Yes, that Root bloke is famously hopeless against spin...
