2.21pm: Sri Lanka are bowled out for 185: at 46 for 3 in the ninth over, they might have taken that, but they should have managed a lot more from 145 for 3 with Hasaranga and Perera batting together. But their lack of batting depth today with a threadbare squad has been exposed, and they're bowled out cheaply. Woakes was brilliant, with 4 for 18 from his 10 overs: superb with the new ball, and then making middle-over inroads. We'll be back in 30 or so for the chase.
James Farrar: "England planning on knocking these off before 4:55pm?" -- Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow - England expects.
Sageeth: "SL have 8 bowlers: 4 fast bowlers, 3 spinners, and a medium pace part timer in Shanaka. The challenge would be to use them to optimum effect. I'd start with Chameera and Binura."
Mohammed: "Not being an England fan, it is totally perplexing to me that Chris Woakes gets as few games as he does from the ECB. Dude is an economical and incisive bowler as well as a capable batsman. Why not play him more across formats??" -- There have been a lot of complications over the winter, not least him self-isolating after sharing a cab with Moeen shortly before he tested positive for Covid.

Ilanin: "Of course, for Woakes to finish near the top of that list Sri Lanka will have to survive his final over..." -- Here it comes. Karunaratne on strike. No slip

Mash: "Given teams often now intentionally put their best players of spin at 3 and 4 in T20s, do you think we'll see this happening in ODIs any time soon? Really we should be seeing Bairstow and Moeen take on Hasaranga in the middle today as England's best players of spin" -- Yes, that Root bloke is famously hopeless against spin...
Jayawickrama, at No. 11 on debut. 17 List A runs to his name. Starts at the non-striker's end
