6.1 absolute ripper cleans him up! A near perfect delivery, particularly to someone reluctant to come forward and cover the line completely, nice and full around off, threatening to keep coming in with the angle, straightens audaciously late and whizzes past the tentative prod to take out the off stump. Out comes an under pressure Azhar Ali 10/1

20.3 this is good. It has nipped back in from outside off and pegged him on the pads. Given out, and Abid refers this! Beaten for pace as he played from the crease. The inward movement started from just outside off. No inside edge on this, all down to tracking now! It's three reds, and Abid falls to Lahiru Kumara 65/3
6.3 knocks out the captain with a cracker now! The length was the key again, it was full and shaping back in, Azhar Ali was rooted to the crease and played outside the line, in a manner you'd expect someone who hasn't made a fifty in over 12 innings, make it 13 now, as Azhar falls for a two-ball duck. 10/2
39.5 ooh, this is classy, and Babar is gone! Tosses this up a bit, and shortens the length a touch. Babar skips down the wicket, but is beaten by the turn across the face of the bat. He's stranded a long way down the pitch, and Dickwella does the rest. Classy bit of bowling to get rid of the dangerous in-form batsman. Sri Lanka will fancy their chances now of restricting Pakistan to an amenable total 127/4
58.1 four for Lahiru and Shafiq falls to a soft dismissal! It was really a half tracker, Shafiq tried to help it along with the angle into him, it seemed to stick in the surface which meant Shafiq was through the stroke a fraction early, which resulted in a top edge safely taken at fine leg 185/9
51.5 ooh, this looks good. And it's given leg before! The batsmen consult, and Sohail decides to review. This looks a good decision at first glance. Length ball from around the wicket, that was tossed up around off, and turned back in, and struck him quite low. Sohail simply played down the wrong line, and that's the subtle variations that the left-armer has got in his armoury. Unless he's got an inside edge, he should be gone. It misses the bat, on replays! Three reds, and another wicket for Embuldeniya. Review lost by Pakistan too! 167/5
52.2 knocks him over! Perfect delivery for a bowler who tends to bring it back in to the right hander. Pitched just outside off, ideal length to hit top of off and that's exactly what it does as it bursts through the yawning gap between Rizwan's bat and pad 172/6
52.3 full, fast and straight and Kumara is hastening the end here! Yasir was caught slightly off balance as that fast inducker struck him on the base of the front pad, dead in front of the stumps. Kumara on a hat-trick 172/7
55.5 cracking delivery, the perfect foil for Kumara's pace! Lovely loop, hangs forever in the air as Abbas pushes forward and isn't quite there to the pitch, there's a bit of turn that takes the outside edge and the easiest catch to slip 179/8
59.3 four for Embuldeniya and a brilliant catch from Mathews! It was tossed up and angled across this time, Shaheen came dancing down to launch over the leg side, got a massive top edge, Mathews had to run back from mid-off, which is never easy but he kept his eyes on the steepler throughout, and finally put in a dive to hold on 191/10

6.2 full, wide, and he drives for this. Pakistan review for caught behind, but it's not been given! Seems to have beaten him at first glance, but Rizwan is convinced there is a feather edge. Good length, and lured him in to a drive, with his front leg going nowhere. They are seeing a spike as the ball passes! That's the first breakthrough, and terrific bowling from Afridi 28/1
12.2 oh, he's played on! FDM will be disappointed with that, as it wasn't the best ball bowled yet. Abbas gets one to just grip a bit around off, and he looks to cut one that was far too close for that shot. Off the inside edge, and goes on to rattle timber. Timely wicket for Pakistan 39/2
16.2 great ball and an excellent catch at slip! It's the legcutter again, Mendis goes searching for it with his hands as it isn't full enough, nips away as he makes contact, taking the edge and carrying quite low to Haris Sohail at slip, who had his fingers underneath the ball, by the look of it. Mendis, unsure, stands his ground, but the replays confirm it was a clean catch and Pakistan are well and truly back into the game now 61/3
29.1 Shaheen strikes It's Mathews, the big fish, he had fought hard but perishes. It was a length ball, angled across but just seemed to nip back belatedly, Mathews played outside the line, for the original angle across him and ended up getting an inside edge back to the keeper. Pakistan, perhaps for the first time in Test match, are well and truly on top 80/5
26.3 what's happened there? It's tremendous bowling and anticipation from Abbas who has sneaked in a slower ball, out of nowhere but perhaps rattled by the two short ones, Embuldeniya has an ugly swipe across the line ends up swinging too early and getting a leading edge to the slips, where this time there's no error. finally a breakthrough for Pakistan 78/4
72.5 Haris delivers the breakthrough, and it's Chandimal. It was short and wide and Chandimal went for the cut. However, it bounced more than what the batsman expected as he ends up slicing into the hands of Masood at backward point 235/8
47.3 Shaheen has his third. Dhananjaya ended up being early into the pull with the ball sticking in the surface. Gets a top edge and Abbas comes in from the fine leg to take the catch 147/6
58.6 the keeper comes up to keep Dickwella in the crease and it works straight away! It's a length ball around off, doesn't do much off the wicket, just comes in with the natural angle, Dickwella pushes forward tentatively and the ball bursts through the gap between bat and pad to rattle the woodwork. Four for Abbas, Sri Lanka still seven away 184/7
85.3 falls two short of fifty! It was full and swinging in from about middle and leg, Perera missed the flick and the umpire was quick to raise his finger. Perera has reviewed, though. No edge no the replay, it pitched on, and the decision stands on umpire's call. Four for Shaheen but what an excellent contribution from Perera, has put Sri Lanka in a pretty strong position 271/9

68.3 finally a wicket! Short again, Masood goes for another pull but gets the top edge this time. Oshada Fernando takes a couple of steps to his right from deep square leg and pouches it comfortably. Standing ovation from the dressing room for Masood 278/1

90.1 that's plumb and up goes the finger. short of length outside off, comes back in with the angle but keeps low as well. Abid misses the flick and is struck right in front. He goes for the review but that's being too optimistic. And replays confirm that. Was struck around middle and off and the ball would have gone on to hit middle and leg. He won't get a double-hundred but that doesn't take any sheen away from his brilliant 174 355/2
123.1 skips down and misses, the keeper doesn't, takes off the bails calmly and that's the end of Azhar Ali. He's already walking even as the on field umpires go upstairs, replays confirm he was well out, the bowler saw him come early and threw it wide, the keeper does the rest. But Azhar will be satisfied with his effort and the position his team is in 503/3

9.4 he gets his man this time. Was a touch fuller and closer this time, Karunaratne once again pushed at it with no feet movement at all. And Rizwan pouches the healthy outside edge tumbling to his left 39/1
61.5 length around off, he has used the dab to good effect, but this time he only manages to guide it to Shafiq at slip, Pakistan one away. Great knock, though, hundred in very trying circumstances. 212/9
10.3 Babar Azam snaffles one at third slip. Was a length ball outside off, Mendis pushes away from the body, a healthy outside edge flies towards Babar who makes no mistake 40/2
20.4 edged and taken, and that's the big fish, Mathews! Beautiful delivery, on a length, slightly shorter than the one that beat him two balls ago, but started straighter, around off, before shaping away as Mathews, who was squared up and forced to play nicked it behind, for Rizwan to dive forward and pouch it inches from the turf. They check first for the no-ball then to see if it's a clean catch, it's not a no-ball, and he seems to have his hands underneath the ball. Yes, the third umpire is convinced and Mathews walks back, massive blow to Sri Lanka 70/3
30.1 a long, loud appeal for lbw, the bowler is almost pleading by the end of it but the umpire is unmoved. Pakistan choose to review. It was fuller outside off, moving in after pitching to beat the bat and hit the pads in front of the middle stump. The height is no issue but there were two noises and replay shows it was front pad followed by the back pad and the ball would gone on to hit the middle stump. Naseem has his second as Chandimal, the top-scorer of Sri Lanka's first innings, walks back 96/4
31.5 chopped on! Finally Yasir has a wicket, his team-mates have thronged him. Short of length outside, looked like a googly. Dhananjaya goes back to cut but gets an inside edge on to the off stump. Sri Lanka have lost half their side 97/5
57.3 bowled him! The otherwise productive reverse sweep proves to be Dickwella's undoing just when he was starting to look really confident! He gave away his intention of playing the stroke too early, Haris fired it on middle, he still went through with the stroke and missed but the ball as it took out leg stump. Took a bit of Dickwella's trouser on the way as well 201/6
60.1 what an end to the day for Pakistan! It was full and fast outside off, Perera went for an airy-fairy drive and nicked it to the keeper Rizwan who has taken much tougher catches than this dolly through this innings, forgettable end to the day for Sri Lanka, Pakistan are cock-a-hoop 212/7
60.2 short and nasty, almost unfair that the No.9 Embuldeniya has to deal with that, he takes his eyes off the ball and but is unable to get his hands out of the way, almost as though trying to protect himself, the ball seemingly kisses the glove on the way to the keeper but the umpire is unmoved. Pakistan take the review and it's a good one, Naseem Shah is on a hat-trick 212/8
62.5 that's full and straight, five for Naseem and victory for Pakistan, that was an inch perfect yoker on middle stump and seemed to have a hint of away tail as it struck him on the boot right in front of the stumps! He reviews it in hope more than anything, but three reds means the decision stands and Naseem becomes the youngest pacer to pick up a five-for in Tests. 212/10
